Anyone else got this yet, and have you found any relief for it? Do they make Aspergum anymore?

It's possible you have strep throat. Get to your doctor and let them swab your throat. It can be dangerous if not treated.

At first sign of a possible sore throat take three shots of wild turkey followed 2 lines of coke, 20 cc's of morphine, 5 quaaludes, and about a half ounce of pot

PR, if you take 5 shots of Turkey first, your throat will actually be numb enough to smoke a rock instead of snorting the coke. That could lead to dry sinuses and a headache.

I couldn't drink a toddy if I had to. My throat is so swollen it takes a big effort just to swallow and then it hurts like everything. IT feels like blisters in there.

The cepacol burned like a burner at a burner's convention.

TOo late to go to the dr. today. Looking forward to a miserable night.

Have you had Chicken Pox already? Running a fever?
I had what sounds like the same thing a couple of weeks ago - terrible sore throat! I started taking Cold-eeze lozenges at the first sign of an illness. They really help the sore throat and shorten the duration of the illness. They really DO work!!
My sister started getting sick around the same time as me, but she didn't take the Cold-eeze. Her symptoms lasted a whole week longer than mine.
Gargling with warm salt water will help your throat, also. Do this at least three times a day.

I have that bad throat, too. I am living on sugar-free Halls Menthol and Cepacol. Did any of you have swollen glands? Even one side of my face is swollen - I look like I have a golf ball in my mouth.

Swollen glands could mean a possible infection. Go see your doctor. Advil may help the swelling.

Like I said, get checked for strep throat. Blisters are common for strep..

Would you write me a prescription for that, and tell me where I could get it filled???? Wink
Did someone say HERPES?? DANG!

I got no actual blisters that I can tell. It just feels like a hot knife in my throat when I swallow. It is a little better today.

I just called the doctor's office and asked what they are doing about this. She asked me a few questions about fever and congestion and drainage and said she'd call something in. I only have the sore throat and drainage down my throat, which I always have. I guess the no fever part rules out strep for them. The nurse I talked to seemed to know exactly what I was talking about.

If she had insisted, I would have gone to the office but I figured I'd catch some extra worse stuff in the waiting room.
I hate to tell you it can still be strep without the fever. I have decided I must be a carrier for it. I can have the drop dead stay in the bed can't swollow for days strep and never run a fever. My mother tells me over and over when you were little you would be at death's door and not run a fever but I could look in at your eyes and know you were sick. The first time I had strep, Dr. Peden, said it was the worse case he had seen in a long time and couldn't believe I didn't have a high fever so just keep a watch on your sore throat it could still be strep.
