Plus, seeing the owner out in public I asked about purchasing some hickory for my personal bbq,..... and she said she would sell a couple of three sticks. She didnt look at me like I was crazy lol..... but I havent purchased any yet.
One criticism: they used to carry fried peach pies--the best I've ever eaten. I haven't seen any there in years, and I miss them. I don't need them, but I miss them...

By corn nuggets do you mean the fried Vegetable sticks? Those are one of my favorite things at Southern BBQ. Usually we eat at the Wilson Dam Location due to having more eat in tables and room but we'll give your Pine street location a try but would love to know if you have the fried Vegetable sticks?
Also are your burgers made from hand formed "fresh" patties or are they from pre-packaged pre-formed patties?

No it is two different items, the corn nugget the only vegetable in it is corn and its more shaped well like a nugget and they are sold in the freezers at Walmart,Foodland,Big Star ect.
By the way - one of you ladies left your visor in my tour bus when I stopped by there last summer...I've still got it at home....
I'll be by when I bring the bus back to Florence, whenever that may be. A year is too long to go without some good old Southern..

Everybody should try this Southern BBQ if you haven't.
This topic was started by the owner of the North Florence location, so I thought I'd give it a bump.
Just curious, for those that have eaten at the Pine Street Southern BBQ and also the Wilson Dam Southern BBQ location which of the two do you like best? I usually end up getting the BBQ Chicken Breast but also like the Pork also and just wondered if there is a difference between the two other than the number of eat-in tables that are at the Muscle Shoals's location.
Last time I went into Southern BBQ, they were not taking ATM cards for payment. I wonder if that's changed? Since I never have one red cent on me, it really matters.
The new Ricks in Florence seems to be taking the local market by storm. Despite complaints on this forum of less meat in their servings, they're very, very busy. I guess location does matter.
I've never had any complaints about the quality of Southern's food, either.

Rick's is good stuff but Southern has 'em beat. Rick's has cool architecture and lots of parking, but its the 'Que that counts!
Just as my buddy C'mor recently said on another local online news print," you get bad barbecue from the good joints and good barbecue from the bad joint'!
