When the store first opened it was really a good place to shop. Then after competition closed it went really high. I hope it is a reasonable priced store with good merchandise and a good selection. WalMart has just about run its course with their attitudes and procedures. The working folks are pretty good. The management seems to be an arrogant snobbish bunch. They come across as if you the customer does not have enough sense to know what you need or want and they will do your thinking for you and you can take it or leave it. I choose to leave it.
I actually get my "staples" at Wilson's Food Center- milk at Aldi, and rest at Walmart.
Haven't set foot inside SFM since they jacked the prices up so badly.
Would LOVE a great produce/meat selection like at Publix....
SFM is so ridiculously high in my opinion- maybe comparable to Publix, but Publix has bettr selections...Smiler
Publix would not go over well in Florence. Their prices are a little high for the area. Yes, they offer a MUCH wider selection of goods, but people in the Shoals will not be willing to pay 5-10 percent higher prices over WalMart or Food World just because of the wide selection. It would be like the Foodmax that opened at the Florence Square Shopping Center back in 1990. They had everything, but they were priced out of the market.
