My faimly and I drove down from Pulaski to Stanfields steak house in Rogersville last Friday night to eat. I ordered a ribeye and a dozen shrimp on the side..I was way past my normal eating time and had already started getting the shakes.. I was informed that I couldnt get a dozen shrimp on the side..boy was I puzzled..I wanted to know why not, the kid went to the manager and was told all I could get was 9 and that I would have to buy the whole shrimp meal...boy I got fired up..If I hadnt already gotten weak from not eating I would have gathered my faimly and left..So I ordered the 2nd meal..I then had steak, shrimp, 4 sides and 2 baked potatos..I guess they have never heard of or dont care about the old saying the customer is always right..well needless to say that was my first and LAST trip there..

At Stanfield's, you are ordering from a menu of specific MEALS, and you could have readily accomplished what you were seeking by simply taking the "surplus" home with you in a carry out. Sometimes, life is about small compromises...hopefully, next time you will go to Burger King, where you can "have it your way... Wink

I love the Stanfield's at Ford City, on River Road, near the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail...great food, really nice people.
When they first opened the quality was pretty good. In the last year I've eaten there twice and was disappointed both times. One time our waitress was more interested in socializing than service and our steaks were cold. Next time had fish, it too was cold. They seem like nice folks in general but a little more attention to detail would help. I hate it too because they are very convenient to where I live.

It seems that this can happen almost any time to any good restaurant, BUT when it does happen to me, cold fish, meat too tough, I call the server back to the table, report the problem and it is quickly resolved. Restaurants DO NOT want you dissatisfied and will go the second mile to make it up to you. I have had them go so far as to not charge me for my food after replacing it with excellent food...something I really don't expect, but it illustrates the extent to which the establishment wants to correct a problem.

If it's out of whack, send it back... Wink
up until 2 weeks ago i had always been very pleased with Stanfields in Rville. the service was great, the salad bar was great, however my ribeye lacked flavor big time. every other time i had been there it would always be a perfect balance of seasoning, and the flavor of the beef really shined. i dunno if it lacked enough salt or what but it was just kind of bland. however it was cooked a near perfect medium rare, and stanfields is the only place i've been to around here that can consistently do that. i'll definitely be back though.

Whoever came up with that stupid saying obviously never owned or worked in a restaurant. Some customers are just a royal pain in the rear. I'm not referring to blkcloud necessarily but some folks apparently think they are some sort of royalty when they go out to eat, then somehow believe they're doing the server a favor by leaving a 10% tip.
Wow somebody is picky. I would hate to have to wait on you. There's certain things restaurants can and can't do. Its not Burger King, its not McDonalds, its a sit down restaurant. I sure hope you didn't give the server an attitude, especially since it wasn't his call. The customer is not always right. Everyone knows it Wink. And last I checked, Red Lobster and Olive Garden are not like Burger King either. Order a meal, don't be picky and throw a fit and make substitutions like crazy. I just think you are going way overboard about three shrimp :P

After this, I guess many of you will wish you could shoot me. I've never had a good steak at the one in Ford City, though I do like their catfish.

If you get a bloody steak or one so well done, it wouldn't break if you threw it up against a block wall, they won't take it off your ticket.

They want to cook you another one so that by the time you get it, the rest of your party is thru eating so you  have to carry it with you, or leave it, but which you have to pay for.

No, I don't carry steak with me that will be cold by the time I get home, & is no good warned up anyway.

BTW, if the customer is not always right, who is? If I'm going to tip a waiter for good service, but don't receive it, who's right/wrong? A decent restaurant will want the customer satisfied so they will return & pass the word around to others.

I have only been to Stanfield's one time, I will give them a try again as the service was really good and the appetizer & sides were really good. The steak was cooked medium just as I had ordered and it was very tender but it had zero flavor. Fortunately a little A-1 made it a good meal and I figured I would give them another try to see if the bland steak was a fluke or not.

We go to Ford City O'Bryans often, as our lake house is closeby.  It's an especially great place for lunch with $6 and $8 menu items.  The Italian Creme Cake must be 8" high--and is incredible.  They are one of the few places where you could walk in the front door with 30 of your best friends without reservations, and they'd sit you at one big table.  It's a great place for Christmas parties.  And, they even have beer and wine--something we're just not used to in the East Colbert restaurant market.  And their wait staff is about as good as it gets in the Shoals.

But, if you want a $50 prime steak, you'll have to go elsewhere.  They're just not that kind of place.

The Ford City location changed names, not owners or managers, from my understanding.  The Stanfield's own the Ford City store that used to be known as Oh! Bryans and also opened a Stanfield's location in Rogersville.   I believe Oh! Bryans has several locations but the original was destroyed by the April 27th Tornado and will be rebuilt or that's what I've been told.  The other Oh! Bryans locations are managed or owned by other people who pay to use the Oh! Bryans name and concept.  At least that's what I've been told.
