It's been one area consumers have been able to avoid taxes yet since the economy is so bad states are beginning to go after the taxes they might have missed and any other source of income.

Kinda makes you wonder why we haven't seen the Lottery on the ballot again. Tennessee seems to have made good of their Lottery and no one in Florida or Georgia is complaining that I know of. They would just as soon Alabama never consider a lottery again.
No, no. Those still living in Alabama don't want a lottery. We need your income up here in Tennessee. Come on up. The lottery tickets are cheap and we have several games playing every day. Pick up a few scratch off tickets while you are at it. The lottery will send you folks to the bad place. Let us take the burden for you.
Here is a Q & A piece from the revenoors that 'splains this "use tax" business. Lots of luck in collecting it, you bureaucrats! They can collect it on cars, because when you register a car bought out of state, the tax folks require a bill of sale and they will then know that you paid no Alabama sales tax. But how they gonnna know what you bought on eBay?
