No I'm not saying that Steak & Shake is going to build a location/store at one of the local WalMarts but for those of you who enjoy Steak & Shake's Chili I was happy to see that Walmart carried and sold the Steak & Shake cans and microwavable bowls with the other Chili products.

I actually had gone to see if WalMart carried (which they do) VanCamp's Chili which is one of my favorite brands but I was very happy to see Steak & Shake chili on their shelves as well.  From what a store clerk said it has been a very good seller for them.

If anyone wants to comment I'd also love to hear what other brands of store-available chili you believe is good.

Prefer mine or my wife's Homemade chili...

Canned Chili - Acceptable Ratings:

Top 2 Can Chili.. (Least Pasty varieties)

#1 - Hormel w/Beans - Consistent flavor & viscosity (thickness)

#2 - Brookdale Original Chili w/Beans - Clone to Hormel - very good match & is consistent in flavor & viscosity - Aldi store Brand - Aldi must have been cloning Hormel chili recipe.

Bottom tiered can Chili: (Will not buy again..)

Hargis House Chili - Sav-lot store brand- very pasty (too much soy, cornmeal or starches added)

Wolf - was inconsistent in viscosity (pasty to very pasty) too many veins & vascular tissues mixed in the meat. flavor - ok

Armor chili - too greasy & pasty

Vetti Chili - Just good ole Bad all around- Way too much soy flour/starch

Just my opinion of brands I have tried in past years, Everyone has their favorites, based upon what they are use to or prefer.
