Reading the thread about the teachers fight reminded me about this. A year or two ago one of the TV stations reported that a teacher at Brooks was claiming that she/he had been poisoned. She/He thought since they had become sick shortly after drinking a coke that a student had poisoned the bottle. Does anybody remember this? I never heard anymore about it. I'm assuming the teacher was just paranoid. I don't know anyone who has kids that go to Brooks to ask. I'm just curious.

Yes, I'm almost certain that’s what happened. Otherwise it would have been big news not only here, but probably nationally as well. I guess what I was really wondering about is the 'rest of the story.' For instance, was there anymore evidence than her getting sick after drinking the Coke? It’s pretty extreme to basically claim that someone was trying to murder you based on that and nothing else.. Of course some people have the mindset that makes them think someone is always out to get them. I also wonder what her relationship was like with her students before. Even if it was good before (which seems unlikely) it had to be horrible afterwards, especially in the class she made the accusations against.

You are right. It was at Bradshaw & this teacher is a close friend of my mom. She still to this day has difficulties from the poisoning.
It was sad for both parties. I think the boy was sent to live with his father in Clifton, Tennessee. The event took place in early '96, as I recall. He placed liquid dry erase cleaner in the teacher's iced tea. She had a cold and drank it without noticing the odor. A second boy was almost charged since he saw the incident and didn't warn the teacher, but he contended he didn't think she would actually drink it.

Dry Erase cleaner has ethylene glycol, the same ingredient as older anti-freeze formula and can cause kidney failure.

The saddest part was that the teacher's husband died that year, in July I think.
There was a teacher that said that she had drugs slipped in her drink at BHS. Personally I think she said it to cover her addictions.... She knew that there were those that were kinda thinking that she was involved with drugs. This particular teacher has been involved in a lot of "issues" at the school..... I heard just in the last week that She actually had some "issues" with the A. Wilson guy
