tomfan hit it there. Mallet played VERY WELL! That last pass was obviously garbage, but he couldntve done anything more but run up to the receivers and hand them the ball when they were wide open. He threw near perfect passes all night, his receivers let him down over and over and over again. It's like I said on the other thread. Who know Arky's receivers would be wearing the new Nike Pro CONCRETE series gloves for this game. That was just an awful performance by those guys.
I admit that Mallett played pretty well and his receivers didn't do anyone but Ohio State any favors, BUT, when the game was ABSOLUTELY ON THE LINE, HE blew it, not some receiver. It was 2nd down, for Pete's sake! If you don't have an open man, throw it away or take the sack. Of course, if coaches wouldn't beat things into the heads of the special teams, one of the FIVE guys who was around after the blocked punt should, and easily could, have picked up the ball and scored. Then, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
