The half time show of yesterday’s Superbowl was the worse that I can ever remember. At times it was almost as if they were lip sinking. I know that CBS was the host network and several of the songs played by The Who are used as theme songs in some of their network shows. I wonder if that played a part in the selection of the performers.

You must not remember very far back unless you think the Simpson girl screaming just a few years ago was a great show or even an OK show. Her career essentially ended that night. True the Who are not Spring chickens but I thought they held their own. One day you may appreciate something that lasts from your teenage years to your mid life years.

I saw a 65-70 yr old man play a concert last year. I did not expect him to belt it out like he did 30 yrs ago. I appreciated the fact he was still capable.

Not hardly. If they were lip syncing, I would think they would have used a better track from their younger days..... maybe one where their voices weren't crackling like old geezers who were hopped up on viagra.

Very interesting observation. You are probably right.

And who remembers the greatest half-time show ever? Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. When was that?
I agree. It was bad, almost as bad as Springsteen last year, but not quite. You know, if you want an older musician, how about Eric Clapton or Stevie Wonder...they still sound great! The rockers who have no voice left need to just say no. The Who is a great band - unfortunately for them, we will now have this horrible performance come to mind when we hear their name. Bad plan.

No, the 7 second delay includes audio.

The audio is going through the mics, a stage mixer, to the truck mixer and matched with the video. It's not uncommon for the audio to get slightly out of synch for a brief moment.

The NFL produces the Super Bowl and the halftime show, CBS simply has the deal to broadcast it. The Who were hired by the NFL.
