Surprise. Surprise. Surprise

No one told the Repubs when the federal fiscal year started until they got to DC yesterday. Hence, they claim they wont be able to fulfill their pledge to cut $100billion from the budget as half the year is gone(Oct-Jan?). Now aides say that the $100 billion figure was hypothetical, and that the objective is to get annual spending for programs other than those for the military, veterans and domestic security back to the levels of 2008, before Democrats approved stimulus spending to end the recession.

I am predicting the Whole Pledge to America was hypothetical, and once elected it was back to business as usual. Recall the last time the Repubs came to DC promising to cut wasteful spending and balance the budget; Mr. Reagan managed to TRIPLE the national debt. As a famous US orator once said:

"There's an old saying...that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again."

Two House Republican members, Reps. Mike Fitzpatrick and Pete Sessions, missed their swearing in on Wednesday as they attended a fundraiser in Fitzpatrick's honor at the U.S. Capitol. These two not-quite-yet Congressmen then voted on legislation and introduced bills.

While Fitzpatrick appears to have violated House ethics rules, Sessions deserves special attention for reserving the room for Fitzpatrick. This may not violate any rules, but as a member of the Rules Committee, he should know better

I guess they know how to read the Constitution, they just dont know how to follow the Constitution.
