LOL.

i watched this 20 minutes ago, and i'm still chuckleing.

it's always awsome to see the constitution in action. freedom of speech works in both directions

since he's not had possibly the first shower of his life, the dirty hippie needs to go get a job.

how do you hide money from a hippe? put it under the soap!

i went to new orleans once, and the people there were obnoxious and smug and rude. i've hated the whole state ever since. anytime LSU or the saints lose, it was a good day for me.

this makes me feel just a little better about the Lou as a whole.

Throwing things at someone isn't freedom of speech--it's an angry crowd getting out of control and forcing the police to remove someone for his own safety.  Not that I in any way support what this idiot was going to do, but burning a flag is a constitutionally protected act of free speech, and the actions of the crowd was anything but "the constitution in action."

so we see it differently. welcome to america gotta love it.

water balloons could have in no way harmed anyone. had they thrown bricks, i wouldn't be in such favor of their actions. but running from water balloons just made him look even more of a little whiny twit.

btw - i agree on the flag thing... i don't like it, but you called it right - a protected expression of free speech. my definition just also includes things that cannot cause harm. i can think or words and phrases that would hurt more than a water balloon.

So when radical PETA-types throw blood on someone is that also protected speech?  That can't really hurt you either, after all.  The fact is you don't have the right to throw anything at someone who is doing nothing but exercising his First Amendment rights in a public space, however extreme or unpopular his views may be.

Again, I say good for the crowd for showing up to counter-protest and discourage him from burning the flag, but then they took it too far and made themselves look bad.

The "Protected Act of free speech" is that the GOVERNMENT can't interfere.

It doesn't protect you from getting your azz waxed by someone other than the cops.

first -

no.. throwing stuff is not necessary. had it been me, i'd have just left. the best way to protest someone spewing about somethign you don't like is to not provide them with an audience. let them stand i nthe park and talk to themselves.

but the video still made me chuckle.

second.  Peta.

if these Dbags are acctually throwing acctual blood, yes that can be harmful. blood can carry disease.

but most of them throw red paint. and that can be harmful, by way of an article, or several articles of clothing are destroyed. some of those fur coats cost 5 digits.... yeah, that's harm.

however, the peta punks are just chicken**** wannabes. they throw red paint on rich old white people. BFD.

when peta want to be taken seriously, they'll start throwing paint on hell's angels.

if they want someone like me to pay attention to their message, they'll gather up thier rd paint and head down to bike week.

i juts hope someone gets video of that too, because i've never seen anyone in an "animals are people too" t-shirt get shoved through a tree, or have a 1978 Shovel Head used on them as a suppository.

until then, Peta is just a loud obnoxious joke.

NOTE: i edited this to correct a couple of typos... above i had written chicken p oo p. this flippin forum ***'d out the word p oo p. it says chicken piddle now. i wonder if that'll get censored as well.?

times daily people....  P oo p? .. really? that's just stupid. we're reduced to talking like kindergarteners, and now you even take THAT away. how about doodie? can we use doodie?

i guess it's just a good thing i didn't try to say ****.

Sorry but this is part of the problem we have today. NO!! Do not let him stand in a park and talk to themselves. Because then you give the impression that you and the school agree with their views. At least that is what will be portrayed in the media. If you disagree with something have enough guts to step up and let your voice be heard. If you don't, don't complain about it later.
