Tammy Irons announces State Senate bid

FV, qualifying doesn't start until next February and ends in April 2010. Candidates for all 2010 elections can start raising funds on June 1 of this year (one year prior to the 2010 primary election). There is an election calendar you can download from the Alabama Secretary of State website that sets out all of the various deadlines.

She has been lousy in the House just as she would be in the Senate

I know her pretty well. She is certainly no "liberal". She is smart, hardworking and capable. I am thinking that disqualifies her for our district.

I'm curious does "working class" mean all people who work or just people who work and make less than a certain amount of money?

I think you are right on this one.

She's a typical politician and an opportunist.

Some definitions of working class:

1. Those who are paid for what they do and not for what they know.

2. Unskilled labor

3. Those who wear a cloth touring cap and not a Homberg (mainly across the pond)

As of Irons, she is industrious. I have no idea how anyone has that much energy. That being said, she lost me when she disseminated concerning her vote on the 62.5% pay raise in 2006.

Irons will have more support among the legal community than Paseur will if she should run to succeed Irons.
