TD called me yesterday and wanted to push the paper on me. Although I told them three time that I did not want the paper thrown on my porch or in my yard, they kept insisting it was a new and improved paper. I finally told them that for the person to put the paper on my porch they would have to trespass and I would have to file charges. They finally took the hint. How many times should you have to say NO.
A railroad is a ravenous destroyer of towns, unless those towns are put at the end of it and a sea beyond, so that you can't go further and find another terminus.

My sister gave them the best one ever a few years ago. The story goes like this:

1st call:
TD says they are having a special rate and yada yada yada..

Sister tells them no thanks and hangs up.

2nd call:
TD still wants to tell her about this awesome promotion and the deal they have.

Sister tells them again, no thanks and hangs up.

3rd call:
TD calls again and this time before they get into the pitch she cuts them off with, "Listen, I can't read so please stop calling me." and then hangs up on them again.

Needless to say they didn't call back!
I've had times (pun intended) that we wanted the paper and couldn't get it delivered but occasionally, and in another case we tried relentlessly to have it stopped and they would not. After 5 phone calls and 2 emails the carrier finally got the message. The paper was coming when I pleaded for them to stop littering the yard with it. Finally I reached a person in freakin New Jersey and explained yet again,,,my mother is an invalid and cannot pick the dang paper up from her yard ,along with a few choice words to make the point clear I wanted it stopped and would not pay the bill!!! Why I got New Jersey was because no one at this office was answereing and the call was rerouted to that office. So after 2 months of picking up the paper and going directly to the garbage can it stopped. Roll Eyes

This is exactly why I don't take the paper now. I paid for 1 year's worth of Sunday only papers. They delivered the dang thing everyday for 3 months even after I called them numerous times and told them that I only wanted the Sunday paper. Then they had the nerve to stop delivering all together mid way through the year. I made a point to call every Sunday morning to have a paper delivered until my "subscription" ran out. It shouldn't be that dang hard to get it right. They have the little color coded reflective stickers!
