The Tea Party is fizzling. Monday was tax day and that is supposed to be a big day for rallies and demonstrations for the Tea Party wingnuts. Reports from all around the country inform us that the crowds as these gatherings are way, way down from those of the last two years. As I came from the Florence post office after gladly putting my check to the IRS in the mail, I drifted over to Wilson Park, where the Shoals Tea Party Patriots had gathered to rail against taxes, Obama, and gummint in general. I carefully counted the crowd twice. First count 86 people; second count 85. A shadow of their former numbers!

These one-note Janes and Johnnies are showing political fatigue. Compare these thin crowds to the tens of thousands of progressives who have gathered repeatedly at state houses in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Michigan to protest right wing schemes to kill off collective bargaining.

Now that's a brilliant deduction, FOOL.

Are you actually stupid enough to believe that the only people who share the basic principals that you hear about from the "party" are the ones who attend rallies?

Yes, I suppose you are.

As to your "progressives" that I've seen assemble at your posted places?
THUGS and CRIMINALS would be my first thought...
Careful Cage, after all this Fellow is Better than you, I was watching some of his kind heckling Sarah Palin and thought how I would like to see about ten People with Slingshots and Marbles in Pocket cut loose on them.

this next President Election will be the ugliest thing that has ever happened to our Country, for the Obamanites will not allow anybody but their Great One to speak without Heckling. I think the Slingshot is the answer.

Here is a joke, so don't take it too seriously:

In South Los Angeles, a fire destroyed a 4-plex.

A Nigerian family of six con-artists lived on the first floor, and all six died in the fire.

An Islamic group of seven welfare-cheats, all illegally in the country on the second floor, and they too, all perished in the fire.

Six LA, Hispanic, Gang-Banger, ex-cons, lived on the third floor and they, too, died.

A lone, white couple lived on the top floor. The couple survived the fire.

Jesse Jackson, John Burris and Al Sharpton were furious. They flew into LA and met with the fire chief, on camera. They loudly demanded to know why only the Nigerians, Muslims and Hispanics all died in the fire and only the white couple lived?

The fire chief said, "They were at work."

No, Silly One, I do not believe that the Teabaggers assembling for rallies are the only ones who hold the ultra-rightist views espoused by their founders and principal sponsors, the Koch brothers. But it is indeed reflective of a strong trend when a couple of hundred of them show up at an occasion that coaxed out thousands in prior years. Trends mean a lot in politics, Cage, and I suspect that the very modest Tax Day numbers yesterday signal a waning of commitment of the very "masses" that the Tea Party likes to claim.

Maybe they should have organized a "Birthers for Trump" rally and latched onto the current irrationality that has vaulted a frequently bankrupt gambling mogul into favor with so many high-principled wingers.

I seem to remember you crowing that same message...uh...somewhere leading up to Nov. '10.

Wishful thinking, Professor?

First clue that something isn't right. No group can stay fully energized for a long period of time. There's no reason to be energized right now. The TEA party is doing exactly what it should be doing right now, holding the elected politicians feet to the fire pertaining to the budget. The last 6 months leading up to the election in 2012 is when you want to be fully energized and only a fool would write the TEA party off.

According to Mr. Better, your "event" bombed in attendance like they did all over the country!

Of course that emotion does not exist in the bizarro world of the TEABAGGER!

Keep your fingers crossed and your head in the sand. Those old, flag waving, weasley people you call a charade (remember last November), are the ones that contribute to your Gov't check.

Now pull your skirt up and get to work, don't be late.
I don't have to attend a Tea Partiy gathering to know who I want to vote for, as far as Obama spending a Billion Dollars on his Campaign, that is for the People that has to have somebody to tell them how to Vote, I have been watching Obamas performance for the last two Years and can tell that he is a Liar, and will say anything to get Elected again.

and I saw a Clip on FOX NEWS where he said that all the Problems were George Bush's fault.
I talk to these people everyday. Their all jumping ship. They might not understand alot but most understand what the privitization of medicare and Social Security will mean. I guess their not as dumb as the Koch brothers thought they were. They see what the Tea Party brought them and is bringing them and they would have to be out of their mind to go out and ask them for more.

Adhering to the Constitution, balancing the budget, and limiting government control is not foreign to everyone.

I talk to working people everyday also and they're just as fed up with Obama and Washington as they have been. Guess we're talking to 2 different groups of people, or one of us is lying.
Some might be fedup with Obama and who isn't fedup with Washington? But when people are expecting steak and they are served slop, they don't dine at that restaurant anymore. You don't have to be a "rocket scientist" to know that you don't like what your being served. The Average Joe is concerned with his well being and his future, not his wealthy cousins. He doesn't like what the Tea Party is serving him up and he's leaving the establishment.

I'm glad that you gladly put your check in the mail to help support
your socialist friends. As for the Tea Parties, the attendance in no way
reflects the amount of people who wish they could be in attendance. I for
one am one of those amongst thousands and thousands of people who couldn"t
attend because of work or many other things. I think the election in Nov.
proved that. You socialists are on borrowed time. Soon you will be going
back into your socialist closets and will be hopeing for another Mou or Obama.
Don't gauge the mood of the country by a less than normal turn-out. 2012
is going to be a great year for taking back this country from the Mouists.
So betternobody put away that picture of chairman Mou cause you aint
going to make it here any how. You know it's goin to be alright.

Oh Skip;
GIVE IT UP! The local TEABAGGERS purposely planned their rally beginning at 5:30 PM, AFTER work hours.
That is what is so funny about the talking points from the rethugliteacon network about low attendance: IT DOESN'T APPLY TO THE RALLY AT WILSON PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ferrellj was nearly comotose today in his defense, take my advise: Leave this one alone.
THE PARTY'S OVER!!!!!!

The fire chief said, "They were at work."

Actually, I don't have a racist bone in my body. It was a joke and I took it at that.

I think you have to look long and hard to find a bigger racist than Jesse Jackson. He thrives on it, agitates it, and makes a living off of it.

I don't like Jesse one bit, not because he's black, but because he is completely worthless. Al is just a tag along wanna be although he will probably carry the torch for another decade or so once Jesse retires from full time hate mongering.

By the way, does continuing to call your fellow posters rednecks on other threads qualify as "racism", or is that acceptable in your somehow twisted way of thinking, just wondering?
