This is one of the most disturbing events I remember happening in the Shoals area.

I remember the grandmother subsequently came to Alabama to search for the child. The grandmother, a numerologist, had adopted Andrea's biological sibling, but had let her ex-son-in-law retain custory of Andrea.

While finding Andrea alive would be a cause for great celebration, I can't help but speculate the grandmother's quest is the result of guilt over her choice of which child to keep.

Don't fool yourself, annehr. If you don't think anybody could make this stuff up, you must be living a sheltered life. I've been completely around the world, in the Military, and visited nearly all 48 lower United States, and I can assure you, there are THOUSANDS of prolific liars out there that not only can make this stuff up, but make you believe it!! One of them just happens to live in the White House!
I'd like to know why anyone would think the parents lied about murdering their child. I understand that this other girl has some striking similarities to Andrea Gonzalez, but to put her through the trauma of being DNA tested and told that she could be this little girl who is believed to be murdered... that is just cruel.

Trauma of DNA testing???? How does a mouth swab constitute trauma?
The young girl was not traumatized in any way, as she is the one who made the claim she was the missing little girl...
The teenager has mental issues and is now in confinement at a medical facility for those mental issues...
This is not unusual for someone of this background to make false embellishments about certain events in their life...This embellisment brings forth attention which is what they wanted in the first place...

Whether the claim is false or true, Sheriff Plot had the duty to look into it as a County Official, once the claim is made known to his office...He did just that and allowed the investigation to go where the evidence took him...
The results you now know...
