I doubt the message will sink in. (She thinks refudiate is a word, after all.)

She's taken down several of her anti-government-load-up-on-the-guns-and-ammo-and-go-get-'em posts from facebook and twitter since the shootings yesterday.

I'm not sure if this one is still up, but it's very telling (someone posted this on another forum):

LMAO! Thanks. I needed that.
Let's sign one for Joy Behar and Gore Vidal too.

"Liberal icon Gore Vidal, while on the CNN Headline News Show, “The Joy Behar Show” on October 22 said of President Bush: “But I couldn’t jump into the screen fast enough to kill him off. That’s one murder that I missed not committing.” Did host Joy Behar ask him to clarify why he wished he had murdered a U.S. president, or tell him how deplorable that statement was? No. She laughed and said: “Well, it’s too late anyway.”
Nationwide the left wingers are guilty of politicus interruptus -- firing off their mouths before checking their facts.

From "A classmate of the man accused of shooting Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords this morning describes him as "left wing" and a "pot head" in a series of posts on Twitter this afternoon.

Caitie Parker did not immediately respond to our request for an interview, but her "tweets" in the hours after the shooting paint a picture of Jared Loughner as a substance-abusing loner who had met Giffords before the shooting. She says, Loughner described the congresswoman as "stupid and unintelligent.'"

Don't forget Michael Moore, Roseanne, Sean Penn, Obama, and on and on and on. The sad part is that they couldn't give a crap less about the woman, they're just thrilled to have this chance to trash Republicans. Sick sick sick.

Juan, always wait for your insightful posts.

When are you going to start?

Old dawg juan hunt,

Is this the same vast right wing conspiracy that's beaming beryllium into your brain, or is it hafnium! Switch from an aluminum foil hat to a lead foil one. You'll feel better!

Reality can be most inconvenient!
The main stream media will convince the American public that right wing rhetoric motivated this killer to act. Its as if Palin yelled "Fire" at a crowded shopping mall. Thats the story that will be told. You know what they say, "Guns dont kill people, crazy people motivated by powerful media celebs kill people".

Jared Loughner is described as a "left-wing political radical."A classmate of the man accused of shooting Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords this morning describes him as "left wing" and a "pot head" in a series of posts on Twitter this afternoon.

Caitie Parker did not immediately respond to our request for an interview, but her "tweets" in the hours after the shooting paint a picture of Jared Loughner as a substance-abusing loner who had met Giffords before the shooting. She says, Loughner described the congresswoman as "stupid and unintelligent."

We've confirmed that Parker and Loughner went to school together at Mountain View High School in Tucson and that both attended Pima Community College, so her claims of knowing Loughner seem to be legit.

Parker "tweets" that she and Loughner were in the band together and were friends until 2007 when he became "reclusive" after getting alcohol poisoning and dropping out of college.

She describes him as "quite liberal" and as a "political radical."
I don't get the point of what this thread is about, at least the debate in the thread. The title is "Tell Sarah Palin: Violent threats have consequences". Have I missed something? As far as I can tell, Sarah Palin has not made any "violent threats", has not said anything that any reasonable person could take as a "violent threat" nor did anyone take anything she said as a "violent threat".

All of the lefties posting in this thread were making quite a reach to spin this tragedy for political gain on their side and the repubs who have indulged the debate just sorta look stupid as you are arguing a point that never happened.

You know Juan,
I'm sick of the hate coming from the left on here. Butter was enough to make me have chills. You want to make this into a political division, go ahead. I'm not going to play this game any more. When you and the others finally see that your actions contribute as much as any one's else, then maybe we can discuss politics intelligently, at least I can hope.

There are 20 families who had their world turned upside down on Sat, and all the media can do is blame each other.

Crazy people do crazy things, had his family or school or friends tried to actually help him, maybe there would not be any need for body bags.

The stigma of mental illness is the only cause I can point to for the tragedy. If people would actually treat is as a disease and not a shame, maybe it won't be a factor in deaths any more.

But I know from experience that closed minded people out number the open minded by at least a 1000 to one.
I think the point of the whole debate is dangerous rhetoric.
I'm sure that you can find some blog or something somewhere where some left wing-nut has used inflammatory rhetoric , but I don't hear it from the left leaning media. However, a lot of the right leaning media does , and the "stars" of that bunch a lot. Palin - "lock and load", gun sight crosshairs on certain Democratic districts , Angle with her "second Amendment remedies" if you don't like some outcome, not to mention all the hate spewing from the bouncing druggie daily blaming everything from starving babies in Africa to plague in India on his hated
"liberals" and Beck with his de-Americanism and his ability to find some Communist of Socialist symbol in everything from all liberals to even the building he works in. (Although I believe even most right wingers are beginning to understand Beck is just plain crazy). And don't forget the nutcases that brought pistols to some political rallys back last summer.
There is a lot of hate speech coming from some very high profile media and persons on the right, and much of it is coded speech for some sort of armed rebellion.
I do think that much hatred being spewed out like so much vomit can and does have an affect on a lot of people. Some who are just plain right-wing-nuts go on an post things like "American hating liberals" (a phrase that is sure to earn someone the ignore list for me)
, but other, even less sane people may decide to take that rhetoric literally and go shoot some people.
Words are powerful, God made the entire universe with words. Matt 17 Jesus tells us you will have what you say (scary thought here, Jesus didn't say it had to be good, you can have the bad things you say also). Goebbels used words to de-humanize an entire race of people, which allowed the Holocaust to go unchallenged by the majority of the German people. Roosevelt used words to lift the spirits of our country during some of it's hardest times since the Civil War. Kennedy used words to inspire us even to space travel. Words are indeed powerful, and we all, especially those with high celebrity or political profile should pick and use them carefully.
Free Speech may be free, but it is NOT cheap, it often has consequences that are not good.

I doubt it.

By pointing out that Palin spouts violence-inspired rhetoric, you claim that I am as bad as a guy that attempts to assassinate a Congresswoman and kill many other random people. You cant manage a rational fact-based debate. Ever.
