I haven't eaten at one, let alone the one in Florence, in 5 years.  So me and my wife decided to give them another chance to see what happens.  After our visit Sunday evening, I doubt it will be 5 years until I visit.  Probably never.  It was 15 minutes before we got a waiter but when he/she came, we ordered our food along with our drinks.  Our salads came and we actually finished them before we got our drinks.  Food came.  Medicore is an actual compliment.  I don't eat salt.  So when our steaks came, they were nice and salty.  I ordered chicken,  Same thing.  Those of you might like this place but I do believe it will not take much to sway the people when Longhorn arrives.

Sorry for your bad experience.  I've not had the service problems--except when everyone stops serving and dances on the bar.

The Roadhouse's food is usually pretty consistent.  Unfortunately, so is the noise level of the place--consistently loud.  It's still a better meal than Logans.

Hopefully Longhorn will be a nice, quieter meal. I used to eat in the Atlanta Longhorns weekly, and was very satisfied.

But we'll also have the new Dales opening shortly that should be superior to any of these steak restaurants.  Dale's Belle Meade/Cool Springs affiliate, Sperry's is the favorite restaurant/bar of the rich and famous.  Their Williamson County customers demanded a Sperry's, and they got an exact replica of the Belle Meade Sperry's.

And if you eat steak out, restaurant changes will be changing shortly.

For what it's worth, I've never had anything but great service at Texas Roadhouse. I have two daughters who are servers at another local chain and if the service/food isn't up to par (even if it's one of my girls), I will tell the manager AND email Corporate through the website. In fact, one of my daughters was mortified that I sent in a complaint and it was addressed at a staff meeting. Of course, she knew it was from me because of the situation cited. I do, however compliment servers, managers and have been known to email Corporate when service/food is good.

My advice: If you are unhappy for any reason, tell your server. If that brings no resolution to the problem, ask for the manager. I've never met one who was too busy to talk with me.

Good for you Shlalom.  I like that you praise the good.

We used to drive up to Nashville from Memphis, and would frequent a bar:  The Bluegrass Inn.  Hubert Davis the banjo great would alway say his motto:

"If you like us, tell your friends.  But if you don't, keep your mouth shut."

Hubert obviously was trying to make a living.

During my earlier visit(5 years ago) we had problems with service and the food.  I did notify the server and manager during that visit.  To which I got a rude attitude from the manager and we left.  I failed to notify the main office at the time.  I did send in my complaint via their internet site this time.  But have yet to receive any response to it.  The good thing about this area is that we have a vast amount of places to eat.

That is really saddening to hear. Usually, by the time one gets to the corporate level with either a complaint or " 'atta boy!", some response is received.

My family and I had yet another wonderful meal there this past Sunday evening. Our server, Ashley, was wonderful, smiled the entire time and did everything she could to please us. The rest of the staff was just as kind and friendly.

One of my sons has just been hired at Longhorn as a line cook, so I am anxious to see how that goes

After posting this I received a call from the main office about my concerns.  She was very nice and told me that problems had been seen with the previous manager and the current one has been working there for about four months.  She also asked where I was seated and could pull that up from the main office and tell who the waiter was for that area at the time of my visit.  She urged us to return and promised a better visit.

So those of you who work there and think you are getting away with something.  You might should realize they can tell from the main office what you do.

So there you go.

Guess you should be happy with your "freebee".

Judging by the amount of customers who are there almost every night of the week...and the wait...they "endure" to dine there...maybe this isn't the type of eating establishment you should frequent.

Maybe you should stick to CC's or Ryans...

They will let you freely eat with your "feedbag" on...

I drive by Texas Roadhouse quite often and never give it a glance.  I have been there a few times (when they first opened) and never enjoyed it but thought I would give it a chance.  I found it to always be too noisy, too rowdy, too distracting to enjoy a nice dinner. I prefer nestling into a private quiet booth.  There are a number of local eateries that offer what I am looking for so that is where I choose to go.  Everyone has a choice and everyone has different likes and dislikes.  That is why we have so many places from which to choose.  Nice!
