Maybe is it better that they are stuck inside for the rest of their lives to suffer? I could not live in jail. Death is easy compared to jail.
They live better in prison than a lot of people live on the outside. What does she lose by being in prison? Too, she will become eligible for parole. Granted, it will be years, but there is still a chance. If she had gotten the death penalty she wouldn't have that chance.
