Was it another case of intimidation or is there politics in play here.

I bet if it has been the other way around and it would have been shouted from the roof tops by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

They should have been removed from the premises, if necessary by force from law enforcement.
If you stop telling lies about me, I will stop telling the truth about you

Yep, they should have been removed. I doubt there was any politics involved and I see no one coming to their defense.

And you would be in jail awaiting a trial for murder. Calm down - they did not strike anyone with their little batons. I see little difference between your wild west bravado and their bad behavior.

Obama did not come to their defense. The Justice Dept. reviewed the case. You are just another sore loser who is looking for boogie men and conspiracy behind every action, word or deed. Its called ODS. Sounds like you have some violent tendencies too. Not a good combination.
What part of:

"The Obama administration won the case last month, but moved to dismiss the charges on May 15."

doesn't our Queen Snake understand? The case was won and awaiting sentencing when lawyers appointed by Obama moved to dismiss the charges and end the sentencing phase of the trial.

Whether the decision was made at Obama's level, the solicitor general's level or the AG's level, a decision was made by political appointees with no reason given.
Exactly. What was the reason? Do we always allow people who threatens others, especially at a voting booth, to just walk away?
Shoot them, no. Lock them for intimidation, threatening behavior and creating a disturbance, yes. If a baton in the hand of a police man is a deadly weapon, it is in their hands too.
Brian Wilson of Fox taped these idiots. He could give testimony as well.
I thought we are for 2nd Amendment rights. Big Grin

Like it or not the Black Panther Party did many good things also. Just like any group there will always be those that take a group in their own direction. Initially they for the protection of African American neighborhoods from police brutality in the 60's. They also protested against banning firearms.

While some of their though process was crazy, they did do some good.

True.

If Acorn can be investigated for voter registration fraud, then these guys at least should be held accountable for voter intimidation. They scared off any one not voting for Obama. Is that not illegal?

I used to have, in my possession, a coloring book that the Black Panthers used to hand out to young black kids. In it were pictures of grotesquely rendered pigs dressed in police uniforms for the kids to color. The general tenor of the story told in the coloring book was the noble black child shooting and killing the "pigs in police uniforms".

This was not some random act by one or two individuals; this was a full-court press by the Black Panther organization. Please don't try to defend their "good works" to someone who lived through the time when police officers were found handcuffed and shot through the head with the Black Panthers claiming responsibility.

Of course if you read my entire post your will clearly see where I said "they did many good things." I did not say they were always model citizens. You can also note where I said "Just like any group there will always be those that take a group in their own direction."

Flo,
I respect your opinion, BUT I heard the same thing said about the KuKluxKlan when I was growing up in Mississippi. They also did some good things for those who in their circle and community, but any good they did was overshadowed and destroyed by the hate that had in their hearts for those of another color or race. There is no excuse for it. I did not side with the Klan, and would not want you to side with this group. We should not tolerate behavior of this type from any group, whatever their color or race.
Ask yourself this. If the shoe was on the other foot, and three Klansmen were photographed standing in a voting booth acting in a threatening manner toward voters, and the charges were dropped for no apparent reason by President McCain, how would you feel? how could it be explained to your satisfaction?
For anyone who knows who Fred Hampton was, before he was murdered by the Chicago PD...

...at 4:00 a.m., the heavily armed police team arrived at the site, (2337 W. Monroe, Chicago, IL) dividing into two teams, eight for the front of the building and six for the rear. At 4:45, they stormed in the apartment. Mark Clark, who had been in a front room with a shotgun in his lap, was killed instantly after firing off a single round; the only shot the Panthers fired. The automatic gunfire converged at the head of the bedroom where Hampton slept. Two officers found him wounded in the shoulder, and fellow Black Panther Harold Bell reported that he heard the following exchange:

"That's Fred Hampton."
"Is he dead?... Bring him out."
"He's barely alive; he'll make it."
Two shots were heard, which it was later discovered were fired point blank in Hampton's head. According to Deborah Johnson, one officer then said:

"He's good and dead now."

I agree.

So we're racist if we don't like the Black Panthers? What are they other than a black racist hate group? Maybe we need a group called the White Dobermans and see who gets exposed. Perhaps the Black Panther will chose come to Alabama and try their voter intimidation. Not sure it would end as "friendly".

Remember the "freedom riders"? I don't think things ended well for all of them, did it?

Please show where I have ever posted a racist comment? I will be patiently waiting.
I will post all my comments on this topic for you. Now please pick out the racist one. Not the one you don't agree with but rather the racist one.

This group is not the Black Panthers. There is a difference between the two.

What these "men" did was against the law, but we all know in this country, those that commit crimes are usually given chances to repeat.

I never said we should tolerate them either. Does the good they did out way the bad? No!

You know what, if any admin or member sees these post I made as racist please make a post about it and I will remove myself from the forum.
It's cool, Flotown. The "racist" label is one applied whenever any cogent arguments are unavailable. Even if race isn't a factor in a decision or action, there are those who will always yell "racist". But what the heck...it will work. It automatically puts you on the defensive. The knee-jerk reaction to being called a "racist" is to immediately go on the defensive. That diverts the discussion away from your original topic and puts you in the position of having to describe your personal philosophy, how many black/white friends you have, ad nauseum.
