Reading the post, it is eaasy to see just why Cox is a "FORMER" Prosecuting Attorney.

A first year law student could easily pick his "case" apart, especially his challenge of the Supreme Courts ruling stopping the State of Florida Courts from changing election rules in mid-recount to benefit the Democrat.

Incidentally, since the Gore campaign was so adamant about "count every vote," care to explain why they worked so diligently to deny and invalidate thousands of absentee ballots from our Military serving overseas for a technicality?

Independent recounts commissioned by some not known for their "neo-con' connects confirmed that Bush still won the recounts in all Florida counties.

On another note, isn't it great to see Diebold vindicated now that Democrats won on them this last time? Guess they are only innaccurate when Democrats lose an election, huh?

Not to worry, though, Bush's term ends in just over two years. Maybe your BDS will improve by then, unless another Conservative wins.
Almost all of the presidents we've had were poor excuses for public servants. When you follow the money, you'll see a definite pattern. Who gets, who gives, and who is expected to pay for it. All cloaked by nebulous Government programs and faux Patriotism. Bush and especially Cheney are no exception. They are all political robber barons, thugs with power, money and influence.

Unfortunately we've got media mouth-pieces on both sides of the aisle who have the partisan gullible duped with enough spin to make Chuck Yeager dizzy.

Want to see a Democrat or Republican speechless?

The next time you see or hear "Bush did this", and the reply is "Clinton did that" simply point out that trying to justify bad behavior on the left by pointing out more bad behavior on the right, and vice versa, is just down-right idiotic. Hello? Get a clue, it is all bad. Just ask why would or should either accept or "settle" for such behavior.

Meanwhile, the politicians continue to belly up to the trough, and not only pick your pockets, but have the gall, the nerve to lay Trillions of dollars of debts, deficits and unfunded liabilities squarely on the shoulders of your children and grand children. What did they do to start off in the hole like this??? Think life is hard? Tough? They're going to get crushed, and when they do, you can look them in the eye and through the tears, apologize, and try to justify it by claiming ignorance and spouting off some partisan rhetoric.
I agree totally. When Americans approach the polls with the intent of voting for the person that scares them the least, it's not a good sign. Our two party system comprised of some of the most greedy, money hungry people in the country, I'm speaking about both Democrats & Republicans. They are all out of touch with the core of the country and that's why both sides make terrible decisions. We need a strong third party now more than ever. If the two controlling parties felt like their power was at risk, they will be more likely not only listen to the demands of their constituents, but produce results. With more and more people claiming to be Libertarians, I think that could be the next party to be taken seriously if they can produce a competitive candidate.

In other words, we're all tired of the same old crap. Time for something new.
This is aimed at the attack on the 2000 election debate.

IT IS THE FIRST OF A STRING OF CHARGES.

From the review: "Cox concurs with authors who believe that the official account released by the officially sanctioned commission does not answer vital questions pertaining to 9/11. He also believes strongly that an independent commission needs to be convened.

Cox's lawyer's analytical tools are never sharper when he approaches the subject of Bush and Cheney as violators of international law, as well as their repeated violations of the Bill of Rights alongside the efforts of willing Attorney General John Ashcroft.

This former prosecutor concludes that Bush, Cheney and other members of the Administration violated international law as well as engaging in unconstitutional acts in leading the country to war in Iraq.

The pattern of deception spearheaded by the full court press to conflict launched by neoconservatives within the Administration such as Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle is examined with microscopic clarity by a veteran attorney who can spot and document illegality when he sees it."

That is the second issue raised. Any of you folks want to go at it? Or are you going to fall back on the HALF TRUTHS that you have been repeating about the 2000 election and IGNORE THE RESULT OF of the "victory" Bush and Cheney used to invade iraq?
Whattyaknow? Bush Really Did Win

SCALIA RAPS GORE FOR ‘00
By FRANKIE EDOZIEN
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says the high court did not inject itself into the 2000 presidential election.

Speaking at the Time Warner Center last night, Scalia said: "The election was dragged into the courts by the Gore people. We did not go looking for trouble."

But he said the court had to take the case.
"The issue was whether Florida's Supreme Court or the United States Supreme Court [would decide the election.] What did you expect us to do? Turn the case down because it wasn't important enough?"

The conservative justice, who grew up in Queens, contended there would have been a difficult transition had the court not stepped in.
He also pointed out that studies by news organizations after the election showed Bush still would have won a Florida recount.

Appeared in the New York Post, article no longer available.
The majority of Americans BELIEVE that Bush lost the election, hands down.... MILLIONS of people watched the news the night that Florida said that Gore won that state (JEB BUSH GOVERNOR)... Gosh, how embarassing!!!!

THEN, next day, Florida recants? Who can believe anything out of there anymore after that?

This is why we no longer need the Electorial College... POPULAR VOTES IS WHAT SHOULD WIN.

Electorial votes were for WAAAAAYYYY back before our TV systems, computer systems got sophisticated to give instant results...

That era is long over, we can now rely on popular votes... Or maybe not, because Dubbya, Jeb and Daddy sure would have had egg all over their face then!!!! LOL!

Gore won by popular vote, pure and simple... POLITICS is what put Bush in the White House, not WE THE PEOPLE!!!

Actually, more of a conservative. The GOP doesn't make me too happy lately, too many moderates and left leaners.

"Florida" didn't announce Gore won, the networks did. They were wrong.

Gore conceded then recanted and the fiasco started. Gore took the matter to court and lost, after the Florida Courts ruled it acceptable to change standing election laws in his favor. That is why the Supreme Court became involved. Still, independent and left leaning recounts showed that a full recount still gave it to Bush, but by a very slim margin.

Incidentally, the majority of Democrats in the South and in Congress didn't think ending segregation was a good idea either. Didn't make it right, did it?

Well, the POPULAR VOTE elected Bush in 2004. What's the problem? Didn't stop all the cries of Diebold mqchine failures throughout Ohio. Of course, since Democrats won in 2006, Diebold has been vindicated.

Well, if you like the heaviest populated states calling all elections and candidates not bothering to even visit smaller states.

Still, Bush did win the most votes in Florida in 2000 and did get the overall popular vote in 2004, so if you prefer teh popular vote, what's the problem? Should we all just accept what California says because they are pro-Democrat?

Not in Florida, he didn't!

Still, no one addresses why Gore fought so hard to deny the absentee ballots of overseas Military in Florida in 2000. I thought they wanted "every vote counted?"

Isn't our Military serving overseas considered "We the People?"
I WANT TO SAY SOMETHING IN FAVOR OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE. The states, elect the president in a manner that gives each state at least three votes, regardless of population. THE PRESIDENT represents the states, and administers the government on behalf of the states. THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES represents the PEOPLE. A popular election of the President would TAKE THE SOUTH OUT OF THE EQUATION. East and West Coastal states would be the deciding factor. Gore would have been President if the election was purely popular vote. Gore had a majority of the votes cast nation wide.

Okay, I concede, not in Florida though... But you should remeber that on the FIRST NIGHT FLORIDA DID say Gore had taken the state... Then we went through the nightmare of CHADS!!!

So, In MY opinion, he ONLY won in Florida because Daddy and Jeb wanted him too... LIES override anything anyone else can say.. When the LIES start, the rest is moot.
The Federal Elections Committee, the Supreme Court, The Miami Herald, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, even the laughable Florida Supreme Court have all given the 2000 election in Florida a sifting that would have filtered out any meddling by the Bush family.

None was found.

If you have any credible (not wack blogs, thanks) evidence of Bush family meddling, please present it. Otherwise be careful who you accuse of spreading lies.

I guess you don't realize just how many people have NO trust in those RECOUNTS, after hearing what was heard on the night on the election.

First time in history that Dubbya ran for President, his brother was Gov. of Florida and it was announced on every single network on television that Gore took Florida...

Then MAGICALLY, it was twisted the other way around the next day... Then those MYSTICAL CHADS... whew!!! And coincidentlly.. ALL this in the Presidential Election that Jeb's BROTHER was in. Bush Family is very powerful, very powerful indeed... Read Prescott's Bio, and you will see the power that has been handed down.

Does anyone have ANY idea how much power the Bush family has??? Has anyone not noticed that the last 3-4 years??? Or has everyone just looked the other way???

There is no one, no media, nor any court (VAST MAJORITY REPUBLICANS) ever convince me and MILLIONS of other people that all that was just a (UH OH) miscount!!! I may have been swayed some these past few years if it had been any other state, or if I hadn't of already known Prescott, son and grandson's power housing. It would have been so much SHAME in Dubbya losing, from Florida all the way to the Supreme Court... Shame ... And Daddy Bush found the WAY to make baby boy get his election.

Nope, the election was not a fair one, and I dont care about any paper, or any media. Not to mention that Gore won by popular vote...

Just no coincidence THAT big.
As I thought. You have NO evidence, other than your suspicions.

Kindred, you know very well that those were PROJECTIONS about the outcome, and projections in a very close race are 50/50.

There was no hanky panky in Florida in 2000, except for the attempt by Gore to steal an honest election. Prove me wrong, I'll admit it, but you can't, because there's no crime and therefor no evidence.

DF
Kindred, one reason many have troubles with the outcome of the 2000 Florida elections is that the left-leaning media's commission of independent recounts, after the fact, mind you, that confirmed Bush won legally and fairly in Florida, weren't widely reported. Imagine that.

Now, is anybody wiling to address the Gore campaigns efforts at invalidating so many Military absentee ballots in 2000 in Florida?

That seems to be a tabu subject with the BDS crowd.
lewwaters... agree to disagree??? That would be cool with me Smiler

I am 50+ years old, and seen a lot in my day, and there is no way I can be convinced otherwise,... my memories of that night, and the next morning, and the popular votes are embedded....

I was scared of Bush when he was on his Campaign trail... he had that DANGEROUS look about him, and along with his even MORE dangerous buddies, I was afraid for that man to be in office...

Sadly, I was right!!! Not that I wanted to be, but I was.

DF, if the announcement of the night before (day of election) in which Gore took Florida and many other states dont throw a red flag up for you... then no sense in me trying... we can just disagree... Smiler
it really makes no difference, not anymore. Bush,or any other president is there in name only. This country is run by the major corporations. Not one move is made politically to the welfare of THE PEOPLE,only the outcome projected for big dogs. So we may as well be happy with what we have got and enjoy it for as long as we do have it. It is a runaway train now folks. No election is going to change the course the US is headed down.

At this point in time the ONLY hope the US has is to become the world leader in all respects, and that just ain't gonna happen,we have had too many small greedy politicians "sleeping with the enemy". Too much of our nuclear technology has been sold, too much of our advance means of weapons has been sold, too much of of The United States in general has been sold for a meger price behind closed doors.

Deep Fat, little known fact, Al Gore, as Vice President, Presided over the final decision on the 2000 election. HE WAS IN CHARGE WHEN CHALENGES IN THE CONGRESS TO THE OUTCOME OF FLORIDA WERE RULED OUT OF ORDER...BY AL GORE.

Four times in the History of the US Florida electoral results were rejected by the congress, and the law making it more difficult to reject the vote of a single state was taken in 1877.

One other item. THE Florida State Court suit that was at issue in the US Supreme court was brought, not by Gore but by Bush. http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/00-949.ZPC.html

Good article and I agree. Lays out a good assessment of Bush and does mention he got help from the corporate media. It's not the first time I saw that happen.

There is this great debate over impeachment and I am all for it. There is a lot of disinformation out there meant to take the steam out of it. They key to impeachment is concentrating on "High Crime and Misdemeanors." We can't get sidelined by policy issues, like Tax Breaks to the Rich, and bankrupting America, as corrupt as they are we have to present the case of real crimes and put on the pressure.

I think it is extremely important to impeach Bush for the crimes he committed. There is now also a case unfolding in the Libby Trial where Cheney's notes implicate him and Bush in a cover up and obstruction of justice in the Plame leak. And a lawyer Martian, I think her last name is, came out and said that she, Libby and someone else, (I forget right now) I think it's Addington but I forget, wrote out a statement for Tenet to take the blame for the uranium Niger story, which was a lie.

AlGore, as Veep, was president of the Senate, where he had some influence. He had none whatever over the House, where I remember luminaries like Maxine Waters, from my fair city, were threatening revolution.

And sure, it stands to reason that Bush filed the Supreme Court case. After the Florida Supreme Court's rather, shall we say, tortured ruling, the ball was in Bush's court.

KS, you sure were correct ( I don't even like to use the word "right" any more). He scared me, but what scared me most was that he had a congress that would be a rubber stamp.
I tried to rally with him after 9/11, and was good to go until he started talking about invading Iraq. I was horrified! Before 9/11 I thought his main thrust was to raise the ammount of arsnic allowed in drinking water to placate the mining interest in the west (Gail Norton was on the way to get that done the morning of 9/11), to cut down the National Forrest to placate his daddy's buddys in the logging business, to allow companies to pollute as much as they want to maxamize profits, and protect the profits of the phara industry by not regulating the price of script meds.
He turned out to be a far scarrier monster than that. Too bad when you think about what coudda been if we had had a real president that loves his country.

smurph, Just in case you need a little education on the definition of Fascism, this is the dictionary definition: "Main Entry: fas·cism
Pronunciation: 'fa-"shi-z&m also 'fa-"si-
Function: noun
Etymology: Italian fascismo, from fascio bundle, fasces, group, from Latin fascis bundle & fasces fasces
1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control <early instances of army fascism and brutality -- J. W. Aldridge>"

Your definition is just as good. Or, the same as contained in this article: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article17125.htm

Fascist and Nazi Governments are marked by PRIVATIZATION of government.

Sorry man... but when a State comes on National Television and says GORE took that state, then OVERNIGHT things started happening which resulted in a fiasco'... then Heck NO, there is no way you are going to "SELL" me to the idea that Jeb, Dubbya, and Daddy had NOTHING to do with it....

JEB would have had so much egg on his face that he wouldn't have taken a breath for years, and the rest of the family would have been shamed, to say the least!!!

So, no, I do not buy into your explainations, I saw it, I lived it, I watched all that mess... and coincidently enough, it just HAD to be in Dubbya's BROTHERS State... gimme a break, that stinks to high heaven and believe me, I do not stand alone in my opinions of this...

Way too many people say it, even today... That election, and those silly little CHADS saved the Bush's rear ends, and we all know it!!!
Kindred, you can't prove even the tiniest bit of your allegation. They don't let you sit on juries, do they?

You have concocted a story, or believed others' fabrications, into which some facts fit, but certainly not all.

Kathryn Harris, Secretary of State of Florida, did NOT announce in her official capacity that AlGore won the election there, and then renege on that announcement. You are talking about the TV News organizations "giving" the state to Algore. It was much too close to give to anybody, but (surprise) the major media got it wrong.

Sorry, bud, but until you have some credible evidence that Jeb or George sr. or Kathryn Harris or the Easter Bunny or someone deliberately manipulated that election, I'm going to have to accuse you of a partisan excitability.

Jeb Bush deliberately isolated himself from the election debacle, and was visibly not involved. The Elections Committee in Florida was strongly bipartisan. The recount was microscoped in the media. Every legitimate news organization that covered the recount was satisfied that AlGore lost.

But you... YOU know better. So, let's see the evidence. Let's see the pictures, give us the affidavits of witnesses, we want fingerprints but you have nothing.

Nothing.

You are wrong. The election in Florida in 2000 was fair and accurate. Bush won.

No, I didn't... Where the heck were YOU on that night? And the days following??

Everything I say is true, and you are just too blind to even WANT to see how the Bush Politics took over that one...

And OF COURSE BUSH WON, my God, we have had to put up with him for the last six years... that is no mystery... the WAY he won was wrong!!!! And deceitful, and dishonest!!!!
I am through with this post, because I am right, I watched it on the news from the first night on...

Dishonest is an understatement. In the 2000 campaigh Bush said he was not planning on Nation Building...and he was intent on invading Iraq. He just plain Lied, his first Cabinet Meeting had Iraq on the agenda, and that was 8 and a half months BEFORE 9/11/2001. His second campaign CHEAPENED AND DEGRADED EVERY BRONZE STAR AND EVERY PURPLE HEART EVER AWARDED, just to damage the reputation of John Kerry. THE LIES AND THE LYING LIARS WHO TELL THEM ARE IN CHARGE. We are paying the price in blood and money.
It is all just SO coincidental that just nine months after Bush taking office that 9/11 happened... and they even admitted they KNEW that attacks were forthcoming, and did nothing.... partly being that the 'sleeper cells' in Florida were described as upstanding people... partly because it played in as part of their plan!!! Bush and Cheney are ONLY fooling those who WANT to be fooled..

Bush's military background is almost nil... As a Military Dependant (at one time) I think I did more for our country than he has ever done!!!

Something rings true, when it was reported on MSNBC that if Bush had NOT of won the election, then 9/11/2001 would have just been "ANOTHER DAY"....

Then when the entire country rallied around him going to Afganastan he even abused that by changing so quickly to to Iraq, for so many different reasons that NO ONE can even guess what today's reason is...

Bush and Cheney and Rumsfield has opened a can of worms that I am not sure even the Best of the Best of Americans can every close!!!!

I just thank God that Rumsfield is gone, and will go down in History as the worst of the worst... and that is just what he is.
