John 6: 22-71 (Discourse on the bread of life; replacement of the manna.)

Jesus teaches in advance of the sacrament of the Eucharist.

John 6: 47-51

47 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.

48 I am the bread of life.

49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died;

50 this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.

51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."

The institution of the Holy Eucharist

Luke 22: 19-20

19 Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me."

20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.

Paul also teaches the sacrament of the Eucharist

1 Cor 10: 16-17

16 The chalice of benediction, which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? And the bread, which we break, is it not the partaking of the body of the Lord?

17 For we, being many, are one bread, one body, all that partake of one bread.

1 Cor 11: 23-25

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread.

24 And giving thanks, broke, and said: Take ye, and eat: this is my body, which shall be delivered for you: this do for the commemoration of me.

25 In like manner also the chalice, after he had supped, saying: This chalice is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as you shall drink, for the commemoration of me.

Matt 26: 26-28

26 And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke: and gave to his disciples, and said: Take ye, and eat. This is my body.

27 And taking the chalice, he gave thanks, and gave to them, saying: Drink ye all of this.

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many unto remission of sins.

Salvation comes from dying without da mnable sin on your soul.

Hi Vic,

When I wrote, "Just curious. What do YOU think Jesus meant when He told the people in Capernaum, "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life" (John 6:47)? -- I was NOT asking what the Vatican Party Line is -- but, what YOU think it means.

But, like a good little Vatican puppet -- all you know is what the Vatican pumps into your head.  All your thoughts are merely copy/paste from Vatican writings.

Vic, do you EVER have an original thought of your own?   Or, can you only follow what you copy/paste from the Vatican?

The ONLY part of that post coming from your mind is, "~~~~~~~~~~~~."

Now, that speaks volumes!

Bless your little ~~~~~~~~~~~~ heart!

What speaks volumes is your stupidity in not knowing the difference

between the Vatican and the Bible. You asked me a Bible question

when you give me chapter and verse and say, what does this mean?

Well, you idiot, when you settle down. Quit huffing, spitting and puffing

and name calling, you can reread where Jesus just told you OSAS

was pulled out of your was not true.

What I thought Jesus meant in John 6 is exactly what Jesus meant.

I don't twist and lie about Bible like you do billie, so it's the only answer

possible.

47 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.

Hi Vic,

You tell me, "What I thought Jesus meant in John 6 is exactly what Jesus meant.  I don't twist and lie about Bible like you do billie, so it's the only answer possible."

Okay, but, I am still waiting for YOU to explain, IN YOUR OWN WORDS, what John 6:47 means.  Don't just copy/paste the verse, but explain it.

And, while you are at it -- explain IN YOUR OWN WORDS, how Jesus instituted the Eucharist, i.e, the Lord's Supper, Communion -- in Capernaum months before the real Lord's Last Supper, which took place in Jerusalem at the time of the Passover.

I am eagerly awaiting YOUR explanation.   However, I know that I will be waiting in vain -- for all you can do is copy/paste Vatican Party Line.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Jon 6: 47

47 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.

OK billie, what you need to determine first is, "whoever believes" in what?

Jesus is asking whoever believes, but for eternal life what are you asked

to believe?

I've told you many times before, the chapter of Jn 6: was Jesus

explaining the sacrament because he knew some people would not

believe it. He knew he needed time and he needed to start from the

beginning. The institution, or creation, of the Holy Eucharist was the

Last Supper. Luke 22: 19-20 Read the thread.

Continuously blaming the Vatican where it doesn't even fit, for your

childish rants about your inept Bible theories. Now you know what you've

always known. How Jesus instituted the sacrament of the Eucharist.

OK E'billie, as soon as you find a free ticket to Heaven in Jn 6 let me know

Jon 6: 47

47 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.
