About this one. IF there ever was a case to be upset to the point of protest and riots, and deserving of life in prison this is it...yet the left has been silent on this one. Do you wonder why? Easy...black/moslim cop..white unarmed victim.

Attorneys for the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of fatally shooting an unarmed woman in 2017 plan to ask a sentencing judge for no prison time.

If that's not granted, they're seeking less prison time than state sentencing guidelines recommend.

Mohamed Noor's lawyers filed a motion Thursday asking for a "dispositional departure" when he is sentenced June 7 for third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Justine Ruszczyk Damond who had called 911 to report a possible crime.

The Star Tribune reports Noor's attorneys say he would be amenable to probation, (I bet he would be) citing his cooperation, attitude in court and remorse. The maximum prison term for third-degree murder is 25 years. The maximum sentence for second-degree manslaughter is 10 years.

On the evening of July 15, 2017, Justine Ruszczyk, also known as Justine Damond, called 911. About 22 minutes later she was dead, shot by then-Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor.

After a nearly three-week trial, jurors found Noor guilty of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in Ruszczyk's death.

So, a lawyer is trying to get the best deal for his client, regardless of innocence/guilt? Why would 'the left' be upset over someone doing their job? Just because his lawyer is asking for what they consider best for their client doesn't mean they'll get it.

Republicans should spend less time telling Liberals what Liberals think and more time thinking about what Republicans think.. if Republicans can think.

Imagine....he murders a woman in cold blood and no 24-7 news coverage...no MSNBC altering the 911 tapes...no pictures of any involved as a 12 year old...no death threats to his family or calls of doxing his family from all the nutcases on the left...no screaming he's a racist and it's a hate crime. Heck...he didn't even get a picture drawn by Jim Carry.

Mohamed Mohamed Noor[ (born October 10, 1985), was identified as the officer who shot Damond. Noor's partner, Matthew Harrity (then 25 years old), was the driver of their squad car.Noor had been lauded in the past by Minneapolis mayor Betsy Hodges and the local Somali community as one of the first Somali-American police officers in the area. At the time of the shooting, Noor had been with the Minneapolis Police Department for 21 months; Harrity had been on the force for one year.

In two years as a police officer, Noor had three formal complaints against him, two of which, as of September 2017, are pending resolution. In a separate case from May 2017, he is being sued for allegedly assaulting a woman while on duty.

Following the deadly shooting, the Star Tribune reported Noor's police training had been "fast tracked,” making reference to the seven-month immersive training program for cadets; some suburban police departments see the cadet programs as a way to add diversity to their police forces quickly. Noor's police training had been part of the cadet program for the Minneapolis Police Department, an accelerated seven-month program aimed at candidates who already have a college degree and wish to enter law enforcement.
