Do you support affirmative action?
I see you have a Bible verse in your signature. Could this be a part of God's plan?
No I do not support affirmative action in that it's yet another form of approved discrimination against a certain people/group. You don't cure one ill/problem with, and by, creating another. There should be no place for discrimination in today's society and world but we all know it exist. You don't cure it or address it (my own opinion) by allowing discrimination against a defined group. If there is abuse and discrimination, proven, then you address the source of that discrimination and stop it but you never make something better by just displacing the act itself onto another group of people. What you do is create resentment and cause anger and injustice against more people. You also don't cure racism by assigning it to only one source/group of people. You recognize that racism pervades all races and groups and you attack it from within by acknowledging it and rejecting it and teaching your children what it is and why it's evil and bad. As a Christian, I believe a good start would be for mankind to look at each other as God looks at us. Not as different people, different genders, different colors and other physical distinctions but rather God looks upon the spirt/soul that is inside that is eternal of a person and that spirt/soul is the same in all humanity (humans) and has no color, no gender, no nationality. When you can look at each other in this way then racism drops out but then we don't live in a perfect world so we address it as we see it and teach those we have influence over not to make those mistakes. Saying that Racism only exist in White Americans and making policies as if that is factual is only causing (my opinion mind you) racism to grow and prosper as it says it's approve and condones it as long as it's directed toward one group of individuals.
As for the Bible verse and quote at the end of (all my) post I had set that up long ago as I was usually frequently posting on the Religion board in this forum. The context of the verse or thrust of the verse was not to accept everything you are told even if it comes from someone who claims they are an expert or representative of (in this case) Christ. Verify that what you are told complies and agrees with the Scriptures (the Standard) which you were given long ago and from which all (you are told) is judged against/by.
The Bereans were such a people that although they received many preachers/ministers/prophets they would always go and compare and contrast what they were taught against the scriptures/word which they were given and accepted as the Standard from long ago.
There was no attempt to, covertly, say or indicate that God was mixed up in Politics. I think Christ voiced it best when He said (In Matthew 22:15-22) "give unto Caesar that which is Caesars and unto God that which is God's" Religion has it's place (my opinion) in people's lives and politics has it's place and I do not think it's wise to mix the two.
