Matt Pitt, is a "youth pastor" who presides over "The Basement" in Birmingham.  This parachurch operation was described on the web site of Pat Robertson's "700 Club," as shown in the link below:

Here is a video that shows the kind of disgusting, emotionalist claptrap perpetrated by Pitt in his "Basement" presentations:

This kind of travesty has to be a stench in the nostrils of God.

Pitt has had his problems with the law, mostly deriving from his apparent compulsion to represent himself as an officer of the law:

"Pitt is being held on no bond in the Shelby County jail after violating his probation from a 2012 conviction of attempting to impersonate a peace officer. In 2012, he was sentenced to two years of probation and as part of his sentence was required to obey all laws.

Last week, Jefferson County deputies charged Pitt with impersonating a peace officer in connection to a June 15 incident, the same charge that got him in trouble the year before. Pitt's probation for his 2012 conviction was then revoked, and both Shelby County and Jefferson County sheriff's offices had warrants out for his arrest.

Pitt was taken into custody on Tuesday night near the Vulcan Park area in Birmingham after authorities were tipped off to his location. "

Pitt jumped off a cliff as he ran to avoid being arrested.  Here is an article describing his "leap of faith."

A fairly complete summary of the zany actions of this "pastor" can be read here:

I yam what I yam and that's all I yam--but it is enough!
