I was in the post office behind 25 or so people with 3 clerks when one took a break. If that had been me at my job I would be fired.

Another time I was on a train at the concession cart. I walked up and stood in line behind about 5 people. Two more walked up behind me. There was no one working the stand and after about 5 minutes bouncing back and forth I asked the guy in front of me what was going on and everyone turned to me with a grimaces and one person said the lady was on break. A few minutes later the lady who was sitting next to us go up and started serving customers. Needless to say everyone was not happy and no one before me left a tip.

She must be getting paid plenty with her union job is she doesn't have to worry about making customers happy. Just wait until the unions get their hands on health care. If you think the line at the post office is bad just imagine dying in line.

But you don't knw how long that lady had been on her feet before she took a break. some people think that folks in the service industry are servants. they are entitled to breaks by the law, too.
I work as a cashier in Florence at a really busy grocery store. Yesterday I worked a 5 1/2 hour shift with no break. It may not seem like a big deal to some but really it is. For the most part, my customers are very nice and I love getting to meet and chat with tons of people everday. But you also run into people that are just nasty to everyone they come in contact with. After 5 1/2 hours of non-stop customers (meaning there was no time during my shift that I didnt have a customer at my register) I was ready to step away...even if just for a minute.

No they're not. In Alabama, no federal or state law requires employers to provide workers with breaks. Employers are required to pay workers for breaks that last 20 minutes or less, as required by the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Send People to Montgomery that will change the law. Do not send another Democrat down there. Look at what success they have had passing laws or enacting laws that favor any groups that could benefit anyone. You are snagged by Lowell Baron and his kind from doing anything constructive. Vote them out of office. Make your feeling known. Call them, write to them, and when they are in town, collar them and make your feelings known.
