thanks to a friend, i have discovered a fantastic band, the red marlow band.
two brothers raised in this area formed the band, they write almost all of their own music, and they are so talented that they don't HAVE to do covers (although they do some really good ones). they do everything from rollicking southern anthem-type songs (think 'sweet home alabama'), to sorrowful love and loss songs to bluegrassy footstompers that make you want to get up and buck dance, even if you don't know how! their music strikes a chord with anyone who grew up 'country' or anyone who understands what it means to love the place and people that you come from. they just sing songs about us, and that is very cool.
this band is incredibly talented, all of them are GREAT musicians, and all are very nice people. everybody associated with this group is a class act and these guys deserve to be huge stars. their stuff is as good or better than anything you are hearing on country radio now. they have two cds out and both are full of top ten hits waiting to happen.
local radio stations 97.5 in lawrenceburg and 96.1 in florence have these guys' music in hand now. if you check them out and like them, let the stations know it! i don't know about you, but i'm tired of hearing the same 14 songs, day in and day out!
we are lucky that these folks still play a lot of dates in this area. check them out at the site below - you do not have to be a member of myspace to get on there. you can listen to their music there and check out upcoming dates where they will be. if you get a chance, go hear them! they put on a great show and rock the house down!
