You make it sound like a petty issue when it is not. There are serious issues, like gay individuals not being able to get on their partner's medical insurance plan, gays not being able to serve their country in the military, and gays being discriminated against at school or work.
Gays being able to serve in the military was (poorly) addressed in dont ask, dont tell, and is now being readdressed through Conress and the courts. Gay marches have done nothing to help that issue, acceptance has changed that line of thinking. And I am ex military, so I know what I speak of.....
Insurance issues were addressed through your right to a civil union.
There are laws in place to prevent discrimination against you in work and school. Even elevates it to a hate crime.
All these issues you mentioned have been addressed. So, what are we Rallying against again? Ohhh, thats right, non acceptance by the population at large. Good luck with that. It just makes those that dont like you not like you even more.
Hows that working out for you?
