Hi Albert,

That is partially true. Japeth's followers migrated into Europe; while Shem's migrated toward Asia; and Ham's toward Africa.

And, the vast majority of us are from ancestors who came to America from Europe and Africa. So, we would all be Gentiles; for we are not from the nation Israel.

However, not all of Shem's people who migrated toward Asia were Jews.

So, Gentiles come from all three sons of Noah. While a special group within Shem's descendants became Israelites, the chosen people of God -- all the rest of us are Gentiles.

But, God has a special place for all of us -- is we will just accept His "free gift" of salvation.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I realize that in the Bible we have accounts of where SOME of Noah's grandchildren migrated but I have not seen anything to indicate where Shem, Ham, And Japeth migrated themselves but then again, reading lineages in the Bible is a bit painstaking and I could have missed something.
Do you have a Biblical account to back up your map?
The reason I ask and I will not go into great detail but once when I was younger and visited a Church out close to Waterloo the Sunday school teacher used a passage about Noah's being drunk as the only basis to back up a "white supremacist" attitude she seemed to have about what became of the descendants of Ham and where they migrated (she was pretty blatant about it). I found it offensive at the time and even more so now that I look back at such a thing being taught to teenagers.
I am not trying to indicate that the similarities in your map have anything to do with racism, I was just wondering what scripture(s) you would use to back up where you think Ham's descendants migrated.
I have not been back to that Church again and I will not name the Church or denomination as I believe the opinion was just that of a rouge Sunday school teacher and not that of the Church in general.
well Bill in Jest I was going to say that Ham surely went to Africa, that is the reason our Black brothers would sometimes do the Hambone for us, surely you have seen one do the Hambone when we were young, but at the risk of being called a Racist and have both knees jerk all day I will let it go and not say anything like that. shame on me for even thinking such a thing.

Hi Albert,

Frankly, every young boy I knew while growing up did the Hambone -- regardless of color or ethnic group.

That is not an ethnic thing -- it is a youth thing.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Hi BFred,

The map I use is one I scanned from one of my Bibles. In the Bible, we find in Genesis 10 what is commonly called the Table of Nations and in Genesis 11, we see God dispersing the people through mixing up their languages so that people tended to gather with those with whom they could communicate.

Determining which areas of the world the descendants of Japeth, Ham, and Shem migrated into and which they populated -- is, to the best of my knowledge, determined mostly by their names and archeological data. In those days, names of areas and cities were usually based upon the names of the leaders. So, through this, historians could pretty well trace the migrations.

Regarding that Sunday School teacher and that church -- like you, I would run from them also. People who want to be segregationist have long tried to use the Bible to justify their bigotry. God does not teach segregation, nor bigotry, in the Bible. That is a learned trait.

Galatians 3:26-29, "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise."

This Scripture passage is telling us that, if we are sons and daughters of God -- through faith in Jesus Christ; then we are all equally spiritual descendants of Abraham because we belong to Jesus Christ. And we are heirs according to His promise. His promise of what? Eternal life for all who are in Christ Jesus (John 6:47).

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
