A writer for the Daily Beast feels that the Senate acquitting Trump will be or is the worst day for democracy for America since the Civil War.  Never mind the total farce of impeachment in the House the only acceptable outcome for many would only be the removal of Trump never mind what the Constitution actually says.

Many liberals, and Democrats, decry the Senate not voting for interviewing "New Witnesses" that the Democrats want to call.  It was evident that the Senate Democrats only wanted to call the new witnesses that they wanted and not those the Republicans would have called.  They would justify their actions by saying 'only relevant witnesses' but relevant is subjective depending on who is using it.

Also, and the mass media is so guilty of this, no one is talking about the existing 17 witnesses that were called (in, and by, the House).  These 17 witnesses that were called in, and by the House, were never allowed to be deposed or cross interviewed by the President's lawyers/team and the vote for impeachment was totally (100%) Partisan in the House yet you didn't hear calls from the politicians or especially the media, about the total unfairness in the House did you?  Only could the Senate be unfair in the whole process.  The media along with the Democrats fans the flames of anger throughout the nation claiming there no witnesses or documents allowed yet no mention is ever made of the 17 House Witnesses and all the documents in the House all of which was a part of the House (farce) investigation which totally shut out the Republicans and the President.

Now we are to hear complaints that the acquitting of Trump will be the worst day for Democracy.  The worst day for Democracy, if there was one, was the advancement of the Impeachment of Trump by a totally Partisan House on grounds that involved no mentioned crimes and no, actual impeachment, reasons.  What're Trump's crimes?  Beating Hillary in the 2016 election?  Undoing all of Obama's restrictions?  Actually honoring and fulfilling his campaign promises?  Removing and canceling agreements previously made and joined that put America at a distinct disadvantage and that was harmful to our Nation?  Turning the economy around and actually bringing back factories and work to our nation creating historic unemployment (and employment) numbers for just about every segment of America?  Doing what he said he would do?  Appointing Judges that would interpret the Constitution in their rulings rather than being advocate judges trying to make the laws rather than interpreting if the laws and restrictions are Constitutional?

What's Trump's Crime?   I'd say it's succeeding in everything he has set out to do and finishing what he has promised to do in restoring America to a position of Greatness.  That's a crime against Democrats but not the Nation and not the Law.  I only hope he's given four more years to offend even more.  I only hope another, just like him, will come along to run in 2024 because until Trump came along most Republicans were passive and reluctant republicans who sought to please an unpleasable media and who would back down at every opportunity and respond to every accusation defensively rather than assume an offensive attack like Trump does.  Before Trump, we had Romney and McCain so hopefully, going forward, we will find more in Trump's mold rather than the Romney mold.

I, personally, would love to see Erik Trump and Ivanka Trump get into politics and run.  Ivanka would make a great, first female, President.  Democrats are destined to have AOC run when she gets old enough and AOC, and the Squad, are Bernie Sanders on steorids, but totally represent today's Democratic party.
