We all have our differences. Anyone as well intended as the insights represented in this forum is right.
We have to agree to disagree, but please have respect for dissenting opinions. Republicans are wrong. Democrats are wrong.
I am mostly Republican becasue of my personal convictions on the sanctity of life , a marriage between a man and a woman,a dire need for welfare reform and an opinion that big government is bad.
HOWEVER I hate that my party also gives big oil tax breaks and has many other hidden agendas.
I guess it becomes the lessor of two evils for me.
I hate even more the mentality that my daddy's daddy daddy voted this way....or the south will rise again crap...
We have to get along and be Americans though. The following scared me and I want to post the copy and paste:

The following senators voted against making English the official

Seems to me, these sell-outs need a pink-slip.

You are very correct. you have to educate yourself on the issues at hand, and vote based on what YOU believe, not what some "party" or some other person says.

I say those who are NOT educated on the issues should NOT be allowed to vote. I see voting as the same as learning to drive and having a license. I you don't know what is going on, how can one expect you to do well, and quite possibly ruin it for someone else? Or even the whole?

It is shameful that Americans today, many of them, do not know: who their leaders are, can stated the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, know history, simple civics, geography, etc. Not only have our leaders failed us, so have many of our teachers and parents.
