Hey Grits,

Do they sell irony at the Super Wal-Marts? I haven't been there in a while, so I don't know.

They sell it at Publix, but the two-for-one I bought and used was apparently just not urbane enough for you. And I should have known using that coupon on top of the discount was just too...provincial!

I'll do better next time, grits. I'll buy my irony at Wal-Marts. ;D
"Looks like Sav-A-lot is coming back." There are three midwestern produced cooking staples I will buy there because I know the brand names. I usually buy canned or jarred foods based on the country or area where they are produced or where they originated. Remember the Pace ad? If you have lived in other areas or traveled you know which location provides the most flavorful items. The overall quality of food at Save-A Lot is not as good as I prefer, but I would certainly buy all my groeries there if necessary! BTW, the black olives at Dollar Tree come from Spain. (I have been to Spain several times and know the difference!) Sorry, CA. Priano jarred pimiento at Aldi's is superb! (I am going to shred some Cabot cheese and make a huge amount of my favorite pimiento cheese.) My motivation is to put very good tasting food on the table. I have the time to shop around and be picky so I do! I still can't wait for a Publix because I love shopping there when I am in the Atlanta area. Shop where the most flavorful food you can afford is found! See how the words "Save -Lot" can throw you off topic!
CONGRATULATIONS!! This thread has gone from a grocery store announcement to anything but! Cap oblivious(male names don't make you one), B?C, Jen, and others just can't stay on subject. What the heck does mac and cheese have to do with Publix? Who cares how much money you have or think you have when it comes to grocery store announcement? If you want to brag about the things you eat that i can't even pronounce; that's ok. Start your own thread about them. I cannot beleive that some of the language in this thread has been allowed. If you are so great; why hide behind some made-up moniker? Also what gives any of you the right to judge others by where they do or do not shop. Just because bread is 3.00 one place and 1.29 at another; what makes you better because you paid the higher price. I have placed the whole lot of you on ignore for a while. I will check back later to see if they are any changes. Maybe you are all just like windsong and change your name with the seasons.
You need to keep up. No one is "bragging". Far from it. I shop at Publix-big whoop. I would NEVER pay $3.00 for a loaf of bread when the Publix brand is on sale for 86 cents and is as good or better than the "name brands". That was my point. Where was I bragging? I also said I wouldn't pay the $4.69 for an organic head of lettuce when they have "regular" lettuce. Bragging? Hardly. Apparently you have "issues".

EM - Best Line I've read in this entire thread!

I shop Aldi's, Hometown, Dollar General, Big Lots, anywhere I might find something I like. I'll shop at Publix too.

You nailed it, Canade.
Perfect post to end a rambling thread.
At both Food Land and Wal-Mart, the only decent brand of chicken fingers are Top Chick. They're pretty good but I would like to have some more good choices. Anyone know if Publix has good quality chicken fingers or nuggets? I don't like the ones from Tyson.
I don't eat them anymore, but I think I've seen chicken fingers in the deli, Fred. You might just be in luck when they put that store in. Wink
Check out Bob Blanke's supply on Helton Drive. They sell wholesale to many local restaurants and food suppliers but you can, as a consumer, also go in and make orders. They have a sheet of their offerings and Chicken tenders, wings, etc are on that list. I haven't tried the Chicken tenders but I've always found their products very good and tasty and high quality.

As for Publix and the items they carry both the Publix ones produce in the deli as well as frozen were very good, at least the ones were that I got from Publix when I lived in Atlanta.
