Man calls 911 to report stolen drugs

WICHITA, Kan. - A Wichita man called 911 to report he was the victim of an armed robbery. The theft? A pound of marijuana worth about $1,100 that he had been trying to sell at his home.

The victim told police Thursday that a buyer had pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and stole the drugs.

Police brought in a drug-sniffing dog to the house and located more marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The victim was booked into Sedgwick County jail on several charges, including possession with the intent to sell drug.

The thief has not been found.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Two routine interstate traffic stops over the weekend in Montgomery and Baldwin counties resulted in the seizure of more than one (m) million dollars in cash. It happened late Friday night and again Sunday afternoon.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Robert Goodner, assistant state Public Safety Director, a trooper stopped a 2007 Jeep for speeding on Interstate 85 southbound Friday at about 11:30 p.m.. He said $157,000 was found hidden in the vehicle.

On Sunday, at about 3:15 p.m., Goodner said a trooper stopped a pickup truck for speeding on Interstate 10. He said the vehicle was searched and approximately one (m) million dollars in cash was confiscated.

Goodner said both vehicles were confiscated and the department will pursue forfeiture of the cash and vehicles.

Seems like drugs were involved, but it doesn't say. I would hope they found drugs if they are seeking forfeiture of the cash and vehicles.
Great! Now it is against the law to have money in your car. Hope they are happy, could have been someones lunch money.

Not playing "devils' advocate' or anything (he has enough already), but exactly why would one be hiding money in their automobile?

So, if it's theirs rightfully, i.e. not the result of criminal activity, the IRS would know it. So, let's just call 'em up, shall we?

Or, are they avoiding paying Uncle Sam (rendering unto Caesear) his due?

Why not merely transfer it electronically?

It's a whole lot easier, quicker and more secure!
