This public service is brought to you by skeptical minds:

There is no evidence that taking any sort of vitamin supplement - including vitamin D - helps you live longer. In fact, it can often do harm - especially to those who take "mega" doses of any sort of vitamins.

Specifically, STOI, lay off the vitamin C tabs and educate yourself on MSM. There is scant evidence that MSM helps anything but to lighten your wallet.

East a healthy diet, get plenty of exercise and don't believe everything you are told. Wink

A decent article on some of the confusion over supplements:

I take a multi-vitamin that includes lutein for an eye condition I have, but I think there is very little reason to take other supplements if my/anyone's diet is correct and the doctor feels it isn't needed. I use a program called fitday.com to calculate daily calories, fats, carbs and vitamins and minerals. It is very interesting how many vitamins and minerals are in non-processed (boxed and bagged prepared) foods. Animal protein covers a lot of ground and throw in some good low-carb (low glycemic index) veggies and some fruit to get the vitamins A and C and get out in the sun some each day to get the D or drink about 4 cups fortified milk and you are good to go.

I do eat a healthy diet and excercise, about 30 miles a week walking/running. However, I noticed a big improvement in the softness of my skin and my hair grows faster when using MSM. I stopped using it and the benefits went away. I am a big veggie and fruit eater so I understand nothing can substitute the fiber and nutrients you get from the "real thing".
