These threads almost always turn into attacks once other users join in, and they will be closed to avoid that.

well, i debated about that, but the header when you click the 'miscellaneous' tab says 'Talk about what doesn't fit anywhere else - advice, messages to forum members,....', so i thought that it was ok.

sorry, and thanks for the guidance.

Only thing bad about PMing someone you have a problem with is they can and have posted it in the public forum..... if you do PM them,..... Choose your words wisely.

There was a discussion Posted 27 April 2008 09:45 AM titled "To Bill Gray..." which went on for six pages. I never complained about it; but, instead allowed it to run its course. Some nasty comments were made; but, some good dialogue also occurred.

Yet, I did not see the Moderator delete this discussion. And, I am happy you did not. There are times when a good discussion can result from one member addressing another on the Forum instead of behind hidden doors.

On the Forum, I have been slammed, cursed, accused -- and those were the good ones. I did not complain and ask you to remove these discussions. The only time I have asked this was when my family was attacked and when the Filipino race was attacked. Both were done by a single person. Other than this, I have never complained regardless of a comment about me; preferring to allow the discussion to continue.

Yet, you have removed several of my posts -- and I do believe that most members will testify that, even though I have disagreed with some, I have never been nasty, nor struck back in anger. I have never attacked anyone. I have disagreed; but never attacked. I believe that even those with whom I have disagreed will vouch for this.

I have spoken what I believe, with integrity. In over a year of being a Forum member, no other mod has deleted my posts. Yet, you have been deleting them. Why?

Bill, I think you hit the nail on the head. You did not complain. Obviously someone complained about hoss' post.

well, i believe i know who complained, and i don't think it was out of concern for mr. earnest.

Also, please be very careful what you say to someone in a PM, because they can get passed around from person to person, and also can get posted where you didn't intend it to be in the first place when you sent it. A PM is supposed to be just that, a Private Message, between you and another people, but we all know that that is sometimes not the case. More than 1 person sometimes knows all your business.

true, donna. all points which i considered when i just decided to post it openly. i didn't think mr. earnest would mind listing his points, and i wasn't trying to be sneaky about asking.

If Mr. Earnest was above board,,, why has he not tried to explain his vendetta to those who asked nicely?...........

When I joined this forum over a year ago ,,I had a run in with a poster here ,I sent them a PM ,,,she sent it to others ,then posted it in the forums ,so that caused her friends to judge me even though I had no run in's with them . So ,do be careful what you PM ,,because most of the time it is not private . I did my apologies ,more than once, and was even made fun of it for too. I learned my lesson .

I think it depends on who the person is who is complaining.
