I can't believe you conservatives! You spend the last 30 years kicking the government out of regulating energy, yet who do you turn to when you want someone to clean up your mess? Unbelievable!! You guys are always saying that the free market can do anything better than government. If that's true why not let the free market clean up the oil? You conservatives need to pull yourselves up by your bootstraps and stop begging for government handouts. You guys are a bunch of conservative socialists!

Last year the Obama administration granted oil giant BP a special exemption from a legal requirement that it produce a detailed environmental impact study on the possible effects of its Deepwater Horizon drilling operation in the Gulf of Mexico, an article Wednesday in the Washington Post reveals.

Federal documents show that the Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Service (MMS) gave BP a "categorical exclusion" on April 6, 2009 to commence drilling with Deepwater Horizon even though it had not produced the impact study required by a law known as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The report would have included probable ecological consequences in the event of a spill.

Yes, Ronnie. That's exactly what I'm talking about. The Energy sector has spent the last 30 years buying off the federal government to the point where oil and coal companies don't have to pay attention to safety standards. I'm glad that we're in agreement!
What about all the handouts that Nobama is giving all the other countries? When our economy is at a low, people without jobs and he's giving money away like nothing. He thinks when the government runs out, they just print more. You think it's just the oil and coal companies buying the government off? How do you think Nobama got his job, massive pay off.

Obama is doing as much as anyone can do.Also money going to other countries has been going for years it did not start with Obama & will not end with Obama.Keep up the good job Mr.President.

Based upon how much time Obama has yielded to the Gulf, not meeting with BP officials until it got "HOT" and other actions it's more than glaringly apparent that Obama was in over his head and his inexperience was showing.

My question is .. were you this forgiving of President Bush with regards to Katrina?

Whats every body complaining about. Is it not one of the tea baggers complaints that government is to big. jr. and chaney(mr. haliburton) made it easier for the oil companies to become lack in their inspections as they did with coal mine inspections.

Which proves our point. Our bloated government is reacting with the reflexes of a beached whale. The regulators, the Minerals Management Service, didn't do their job. They were in bed, literally, drugged and useless. Obama knew the situation and did nothing about it. Government refused help from around the world. Coast Guard stopped barges from vacuuming up oil so they could check for fire extinguishers and life jackets.

Imagine! Evacuation fleet efforts are stopped at Dunkirk as ships are judged not worth of taking on British troops!

I think the best statement I have heard, with regards to President Obama, I can't reference because I don't know the source. The essence of it though is.

We had an Actor who made a great President and now we have a President who is attempting to be a good Actor.

Almost thought you were serious about that "actor who made a great president" comment. Good laugh to be had
