Tishomingo approves beer sales on Sunday

i wonder how much longer alabamians will send their money to TN or MS. i'm always amazed by the number of alabama car tags in tunica and the TN line... why not just let it be legal in your own state?

IUKA, Miss. (AP) — The Tishomingo County Board of Supervisors has approved the Sunday sale of beer in the county.
Deputy Chancery Clerk Lynn West says the date for an extension of hours will be set after a legal notice of the proposal is published for three weeks.
New Sunday beer sale hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The change was sought by Pickwick Lake marina operators and other business owners.
Board members voted 3-2 Monday to allow the Sunday sales.
Officials say the Sunday sales will take effect no earlier than June 10.

It's all good, Mississippi will use that money to continue 4laning all the highways in the state. That good money would just be wasted in Alabama buying stoplights.

Corinth has sold it on Sunday for years. I can remember going there on a Sunday many times back in the 90's with friends to pick up some and bring it back home. Not much of a beer drinker anymore though.

Not everyone 'makes plans' to drink on Sunday. Sometimes a friend might decide to enjoy one's company on a Sunday afternoon. You may have had more company than was expected on a Saturday night and you run out of adult beverage, it may not be the wisest thing to restock on a late Saturday night.

I like being able to go to Doozy's and get a legal bottle of liquor on Sunday. It beats driving to Huntsville. And that is cheaper than the fine for having out of state booze in your vehicle.
