I don't think it's sad. It just depends. I might read a book throughout a month, but not finish it. Therefore, I didn't read any books within a month. I might not finish the book because I am so busy reading other things such as journals, magazines and blogs. There are other thought provoking things to read that aren't necessarily books. Not reading anything thought provoking, ever, would be sad. But I'm going to look at this glass as half full, rather than half empty. Perhaps the results would be different had the question been phrased differently, such as, "How many hours per week do you read?"

I agree, I fall into the 1-3 category, but I read a lot of research reports, most extremely detailed, which often requires interpretation of tax code and/or law. I do enjoy well researched factual history, some sci-fi, scientific, and espionage as well.

We really should start a book recommendation forum, with reviews. Maybe one for movies too.

I'm always curious as to what my fellow citizens are reading or going to see.
I rarely have time to read. Sadly, most of the reading I do comes from forums and news sites. I check the TD, Tennessean, Daily News Journal, CNN, MSNBC, and Fox. I did pick up a book on starting your own small business that I'm about halfway through. I also pick up the latest Harry Potter as soon as they come out. Laugh if you want, but those books are very well written and addictive.

Most movies are pretty bad IMO, the last two that I actually enjoyed were "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Munich".

I totally agree with you on the Harry Potter books! I usually order it online so I can get it early. They are so addictive. I don't put it down until I have finished it!

The results of this poll are embarrassing.

I learned everything I NEEDED to know by the end of third grade. I learned to Read. over the years I learned to LOVE to read. I read the books that interest me. The number is becoming smaller by the year because much of what is published, and this has been always true, covers the same ground of much of what I have already read.
