Here is video of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell confirming that his single biggest political goal for 2012 is to make Barack Obama a one-term President.

The Republicans in the Wisconsin State Assembly don't mind helping him in that goal, as you saw in the videos above.

Hey Mean, haven't you learned by now that the Democrats are not a party with one mind ?

"I don't belong to an organized political party, I'm a Democrat" - Will Rogers

Unlike the Republicans who are like lemmings in lockstep taking us over the cliff into the sea.

(also , it's been a long long time since the Democrats controlled the entire government with a veto-proof majority in the Senate. Probably not since the Great Depression when they had to be in control to save the country)

Propie,

Again, a premise demonstrably in error.  Republicans certainly don't have both executive and legislative power. Democrats haven't done veery well when they were the majority in both houses of congress, plus the executive branch.

What is wrong with McConnell wishing Obama to be a one term president.  That's been the Democrat goal for every Republican president.

Wow, I thought you were possibly coming around...

Madison was not refering to political parties...he was talking about the dangers of the consolidation of power in government...namely the federal government.  Hence...the Constitution of Madison's time was a strict limit on federal power...not a grant of power...to hinder specifically the consolidation of power to the center.

Consolidation of power to the center is what most political leaders from the past century of both parties strive for...and the biggest offender of what Madison was warning about...was your hero FDR.
