This whole thing makes me so sad I just can't watch the news anymore. Breaks my heart.
I love the Gulf Coast. If I could persuade my wife to do so, I would move down there. Now, this thing may make the coast to the point my dreams are going to be shattered.
Makes me want to cry, but that would do no good.
Sad that our addiction is to the point that we are spoiling the beauty of our planet that God gave us in order to feed the monkey.

I was sincerely hoping that this would work, hopefully it will. Dang and after the Administration attempted to take credit for plugging the leak the other day. Guess they will start mentioning BP as the prime actor in the attempts to cap it again since it didn't work.

Sorry y'all, I really am, I shouldn't have injected politics into such a disastrous situation. It is a horrible catastrophe and I wish something would work no matter who gets credit for we are all going to suffer untold effects.

Still I couldn't help but think that after the response when they thought it had worked.

I was wondering why they couldn't detonate some large explosive, under the floor of the ocean near to the pipe in hopes it would cause the pipe to seal or mash too. Then again I know nothing about what I'm talking about and it would be my luck that the explosion would cause more oil to leak.
They went with mud at first because until it sets it may not have a heavier consistency than the oil coming out of the well and the pressure would likely prevent it from setting. Waiting for the pressure to go down was the main reason a top kill took so long to take place, which is why it was important to know how much oil was leaking. If the mud/debris worked, the concrete in the original plan was just to make sure the mud was kept in place as the hole would have been plugged by that point.
