Sad that our powers that be think they had to go all the way to Canada to find someone to promote our area. People who have lived here all their lives are not qualified to promote us and show us off to the country. Sort of like hiring a fiddle player to sell watermelons. Same ethic in hiring educators and coaches, i suppose.

I get your point, but go to any farmers' market around here and it's not uncommon to find a fiddler or two [and good ones] selling watermelons and other produce.

this is wrong on so many levels, we hired a foreigner when citizens need jobs

a board that knows nothing about tourism forced a 20 year employee who know the local area,

knows tourism and the tourism players in the state our.

possibly will pay the new director more money and according to the article hasn't set what the pay is but offered the job?

facebook post are blaming men making it a battle of the sexes. being a man please don't group me with these bad board members. Please council replace the board members. I understand they are volunteers, but they have messed this up.

did not mean by any stetch to belittle fiddle players, (know some good one two); just trying to make point of how really stupid some of our so-called expert politicians and elected officials can act.
