Every afternoon traffic is predictably slow in the Seven Points area. Much of this is due to people in the northbound lane of Wood Avenue trying to turn left towards the post office, despite there being long lines of southbound vehicles that they will turn against. Consequently, northbound traffic can be almost at a standstill. Traffic is tied up. By the same token, the left-hand turners onto Royal Ave. do the same tieing up.

One possible solution is to have no left turn between certain hours, say between 3 and 6 PM.

You might should edit your title unless that is what you really meant to call it.

I agree that traffic at 7 points is horrible, but unless they do a "round" there is not much to do to better the situation. Personally, I avoid it. I will go all the way down Cox Creek and get on Jackson to get on Pine just to avoid 7 points.
All they need to do is reset the light where traffic going from N. Wood to where ever can go, then the traffic from S. Wood. There seems to be no problem for Chisholm, Royal Ave., Wills, or Edgewood Drive. Traffic engineers would have to spend some time observing the site and traffic flow to see how long to set the lights for, but it can be done and it would not take any new construction to do it.

good support of the situation
ROFL! I thought the same thing for a minute, Homesick_.

I drive a bus through there a couple times a day. The light for North Wood does need some TWEAKING, but for the most part, it does a pretty good job of JUGgling traffic through there pretty efficiently.

Any time I've got to use N.Wood to Royal-I just hang a left down Simpson to Hermitage to get around 7 points.
