So what was Schilling’s comment? What did he write that was so bad that ESPN felt compelled to fire him? Here it is. This is what Schilling wrote:

“A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the *****, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.”

Offensive? Outrageous? Grounds for being fired? Apparently so… at least according to ESPN

Well, as a private employer, ESPN has every right to let someone go for these types of remarks.   He has been punished by them before for his statements, so he had to know this could happen.   

I will say that I really enjoy him in the booth and will miss his game analysis.
