You got to be kidding me and have you heard one word about cutting programs. Let me help you Mr. Obama: Defense, NASA, TVA, USPS, Congress, USDA, and Social Programs just to name a few. Cuts should be made across the board and they need to be made now or our country will go down the drain. Does no one see that we are in deep dodo? Or is Congress just living in a fantasyland of printing all the money they can spend. I got news for Mr. President Obama you cannot spend you way out of this problem and you better start cutting programs now before all is lost! People you better start investing in other more stable currencies because our dollars are going to be worthless in the coming years.

What helped get us out of the last depression? Please do not say "WW2". It took much more than that.

WW2 and the New deal both played a large part, and actually complimented each other. They both brought about the 'industrial age'. So, in effect you could say the advent of the industrial age is what brought us out of the depression.

Will it work with the US now becoming de-industrialized (nafta/cafta?) is the question.

BTW...glad to see you got over the case of lockjaw.
When did George Bush become a Democrat? He was the one he bypassed the Congressional Republicans (good one for them) who were blocking the auto bailout. Isn't that spending our way out of the hole? Or is it called helping your former Treasury Secretary, John Snow, to some cash like you did your buddy Dick Cheney? ("you" being George Bush)
WW2 and the New Deal both helped but we did not have 20 trillion dollars in debt at the time either and my question is who is going to keep loaning us 1 trillion per year more debt? The Chinese? The Russians? Eventually the countries will realize that we will not be able to pay the money back and our dollar will fall causing no one to invest in US Treasuries and guess what? Game is over!

Pretty much his whole last term.Hense his popularity rating. It is not that he was too conservative,it was that he was too liberal. The lines in the last election were as blurry as a 96 year old drunk with broken bifocals trying to read the fine print on the back of an aspirin bottle.
