WASHINGTON, D.C.—Trump has drawn some criticism after holding up what appeared to be a map of Middle-earth, doctored to show Hurricane Dorian devastating the coast of Gondor and Eriador.

An official video released by the White House showed Trump holding up the map and showing the path of the storm, though instead of having the storm slowly move up the coast, the president's version had the map moving up across the grasslands of Enedwaith and threatening Isengard and the Gap of Rohan.

"Some have been saying the hurricane won't threaten the Rohirrim or those in the Mines of Moria," said Trump. "But this is wrong. Totally wrong. You need to get out of there. Maybe go to Minas Tirith, there's a very good wall there. One of the best. Seven walls, actually. Tremendous country, Gondor."

Sources in the White House also claim Trump has offered to buy Middle-earth in the past but never received an official response as it is not a real place.

When asked about the apparent confusion and who might have altered the official map to show the hurricane striking the mythological version of earth, Trump responded, "I have no memory of this taking place."

Yet Trump’s interest in Greenland is just the latest indication of the island’s increasing geopolitical importance. It is even drawing the eye of China.

Trump’s administration is not the first to make an inquiry about buying the island. President Harry Truman expressed desire to acquire the island in 1946 for $100 million in gold, and earlier attempts to buy the island stretch back to 1867.

Greenland’s strategic value is linked tightly to new North Atlantic shipping lanes opening up due to melting polar ice caps. The new lanes have dramatically decreased maritime trade travel times, which generally includes traveling through the Panama or Suez canals to circumnavigate the world.

Well you know dems...they will believe anything if it suits their agendas.

OMG!  I didn't know Babylon Bee was a satire website!  I thought J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth was real and his books were non-fiction!

[end sarcasm]

That's why you're posting your "satire" in the news section. I have seen the lame brain dems calling for Trump's impeachment because of the map...all while overlooking the fact CNN labeled Alabama as Mississippi. So don't even try to claim there are no efforts to spread lies among the gullible dems.

President Trump handed out this screenshot of an NBC News segment showing Alabama possibly being affected by Dorian. [John Roberts/Fox News)

The White House on Thursday night also released a statement from Rear Adm. Peter J. Brown, the president’s homeland security and counterterrorism adviser, who said he briefed the president on Sunday about the storm, including “possible storm impacts well outside the official forecast cone.”

“The president’s comments were based on that morning’s Hurricane Dorian briefing, which included the possibility of tropical storm force winds in southeastern Alabama,” Brown said.

The president on Thursday afternoon invited Fox News into the Oval Office to argue that forecasts for Dorian last week had Alabama in the warning cone and provide graphics, like this one from the National Hurricane Center. [John Roberts/Fox News)

You know why the liberals are mocking President Trump, they believe CNNs map!

BTW They also do not let facts get in the way either.  We were  in the slight risk category when Dorian approached the Bahama’s and after for awhile .  How do I know this well in live on the AL Gulf Coast.  One fact is certainly true the forecasters really never got Dorian right!

We have friends in Dothan and they weren't laughing at Trump's map at all!

Y'all sure are going to great lengths to defend Trump over a satire story.  Getting defensive, huh?

No...it's not defending him against anything. It's pointing out your "satire story" has no legs.

Are you really that clueless?

Satire: Noun - the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

The smartest president ever uses a 5 day old forecast map, draws in his own trumpcast with a sharpie and all y'all can do is be cheerleaders for his ignorance.

No...but apparently you're that clueless seeing as how the map was legit and did include Alabama...but you chose to ignore that fact and claim you were only posting "satire". To be "satire" the map would have to have never included Alabama....but it did. You Trump haters have no boundaries. A lie is just as good to you as any truth or fact.

Wow.  I even posted the link to Babylon Bee, a well known satire site. I wasn't just claiming to post satire, I was in-fact posting satire.  But all y'all get all worked up in defense of your infallible immaculate great white savior and can find no humor in his gaff.
