since taking office, trump has spent just over $24 million on travel and golf.... to put that in perspective, obama spent around $12million / year... and the grand mother that lived with obama cost tax payers about 30k over 8 years.... ms. trump is costing taxpayers around $1million / day living in trump towers.
i made this topic because i could not find the republiCON outrage over trump playing so much golf and spending so much money on vacations... or the added cost of his freeloading family. so i thought i'd give the rt. wingnuts a chance to vent their outrage over trump's needless spending and extravagant vacation practices.
Crash, I'm not trying to take issue with your statements or question the information where you got your figures because frankly I haven't taken time to check on them or do I care to. Obama, like many that have occupied the office surely take advantage of the perks of the job and Obama's greatest indulgence was his use of Air Force One. The issue I have, with your statements, has to do with the grandmother or to be more specific, Michelle's mother. I don't know how much she personally cost the taxpayers over the 8 years that Obama was in the White house but she was a permanent resident along with the Obamas. My issue with the grandmother is the annual $180,000.00 check she will draw, from the Government (or Taxpayers) as a severance for claiming she watched the Obama's kids and thus that's her official retirement. I guess the secret service did nothing all the time but either way I think there are a lot of deserving Americans who would love to have $180,000 a year or even much less, for doing nothing for 8 years.
I don't doubt that Trump or his family may also take advantages of the position but if they do then surely they won't be the first nor the worst. I challenge you to investigate Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi and their relatives to see how they went from nothing to very super rich. I'm sure you will also find the same of many Republicans as well.
My main issue is don't go put on rose colored glasses when it comes to Democrats and what they do and then complain about Republicans. At least be fair enough to condemn both, including those you support. I'm sure there are good folks in both parties but the problem is there are far less of them than the ones that take advantage of their positions. One thing about Trump, so far, is that he has donated his salary to various governmental departments or put it back into the government's coffers. He and some of his cabinet are not taking a salary but then given their personal wealth they don't need to either, just like John Kennedy.
