I've been going for years. The best one out there is Gold Strike hands down. If anyone says other wise they have never been. Grand Casino would rank second but unless you stay in the Grand Casino hotel you have to take the trolley. At Gold Strike sit down and play table games. Make sure you go get a players card first. Sit down at the table and give them the card and your money. Stay conservative and play at that table for as long as possible. Then when you get ready to leave tell the pit boss, the guy behind the dealer you need some dinner tickets. He knows you are going to ask so its no big deal. Usually if you stay an hour or so and start with 100 they will give you whatever you want. Try to continue playing at the table around the area of that same pit boss and dealers. call them by name, be polite, play smart, and they will take excellent care of you. It would not hurt if you were a women or had a women in your group either. I usually get my wife to ask for the dinner comps, shes pretty good at it. the last time I went they were very loose with giving comps, just ask um. they won't say no if you have been at the table a while and put down some good money.

Thanks OB that sounds good to me !!
The wife and I just went for the first time last week, and had a great time. You absolutely must eat at the Murano's Italian Restaraunt in the Harrah's (formerly the Grand)and have the Shrimp Parmingiana, it is to die for.
It was our first trip and we got comps to a free show at Harrah's just by getting the Players card and asking.
We paid for our rooms and had an absolutely great room, really clean, KS bed with huge bath and inroom jacuzzi for $90 a night at the Sheraton next to the Horseshoe. neither of us are big gamblers, but we had a great time, and it was not a bad drive to get there.
Went to GoldStrike a few months ago on someone else's comps, did not use the card they gave me (didn't want big brother to know what I was spending) and won $5,000+ playing $1 slots with a $100 bill. It was around 10:30 p.m. when I won.

Oh, this was my first time to go. I will not be back for a very LONG time!! And because I did not use the card in the machines, I have not received anything in the mail from them.

Have fun!
It maybe hard to get a room, so close to the 4th, try Sheraton you may have a better chance at a room of the 3, with the Horse Shoe in between the Gold Strike, good thing about staying at any of these 3 , you can walk to each one , injoy a drank & never have to drive. If you play live Poker, Texas Hold Em.. give the Pit Boss your card , & ask for a Poker rate on your room you may all ready have, after like 5 hours play, some times they, cut the price on the room. Some places if it is your first time to get a card, ask for a meal ticket. Don't be suprized to see a friend that had a Vote No to the Lotto in their Yard , but no worries , they only came for the Buffet !! Wink
There is also a really nice museum on the banks of the Mississippi right next to Fitzgerald's Casino. They offer river boat rides during the day and a dinner cruise with music at night. There will be a huge fireworks show in Memphis at Tom Lee Park on Riverside Drive July 4th. Oh and for everyone else, the Mid-South Fair will be moving to Tunica County next year....the appathy and self-hatred of the City of Memphis ran them off.
