Could someone please tell me how to get Animal Control to pick up two big dogs that are roaming our neighborhood? These dogs are destroying personal property all over the place. I believe that the owners are letting them loose after hours and on the weekend so that they won't be picked up. It is my understanding that the owners have been contacted once by Animal Control but it has done absolutely no good. Several people from the neighborhood have called about the dogs and one certain lady was told that if she called again they were going to have her arrested for harrassing them. We can't even go outside in our own yards because of these dogs. Who else can we contact to get this problem taken care of?

the only dealings i had with animal controlis: i called to report a neighbor's dog that got in my garbage EVERY week for 2 months. they show up at the neighbor's house and explain to him that i have a problem with his dog and he needed to put it up. and i have never heard from or seen them again. and now the neighbor doesn't even speak to me. LOL. (and once a week i get my garbage up and put it back in the can. Mad)
Thanks Yellowdog and Monster. Yellowdog, the lady that I was talking about that had called so many times they had threatened to have her arrested for harrassing them, has seen the dog owners riding by her house very slowly and is now afraid of having something happen at her house. She told me that they had given the dog owners her name. She is a single senior citizen who has problems with her knees and is afraid if those dogs get her down she can't get them off her. I have two grandchildren that I won't even let go outside at my house anymore because of the dogs. They are aggressive and BIG.
Monster, if there was any possible way that I could get a collar and leash on them they would have already been taken to the animal shelter. I love animals and don't want them hurt but we can't even go outside in our own yards for fear of these dogs. I do appreciate your suggestions and thank you for you ideas. Maybe we can find someone who can catch them and deliver them to the animal shelter.
My neighbor talked to the mayor and the problem was taken care of in less than one hour. It's really sad about the dogs because it wasn't their fault. I do love animals and would hate to see them put to sleep. The two that I have stay inside my house and are treated like spoiled children. They are my babies.

Thank you all for your help.
You are so right. It is not the dogs' fault. I have absolutely no respect for individuals who don't take care of their dogs. I have been the mom to several little escape artists--that's different. When people turn their animals loose after hours to harass children, joggers, cats, etc., there's no excuse. I'm sure these people can bail their dogs out and hope they've learned a lesson.
