Two men are dead in Ionia, Michigan after a road rage incident escalated into a shootout Wednesday. Police say that James Pullum, 43, and Robert Taylor, 56 apparently argued after Taylor became enraged over something that occurred while driving though the details are not clear as to exactly what precipitated the incident.

Witnesses say that Pullum who had his wife and mother in the vehicle with him pulled into the parking lot of a car wash and Taylor who was at the time tailgating him followed him in. Both men exited their vehicles and began to argue as the argument escalated, Taylor pulled his gun and began to fire. Pullum, who was also carrying a gun, drew his and returned fire. Both men apparently died at the scene.

Pullums mother-in-law says that her son-in-law was protecting his family and that he was a “great person, a great family man and a great businessman.” He owned a service station in Ionia. Other details are vague and police say they are having difficulty piecing together what happened since both men are dead. They also said that both men had concealed carry permits and were legally carrying their weapons.

While it may be true — as the NRA says — that a good man with a gun can stop a bad man with a gun, they fail to mention that both may die in the process.

Liar!  The only absolute is to abolish the 2nd amendment and rid all law abiding citizens of their right to bear arms.  That is the final solution for your type and it requires a lot of steps to get to that point.  Current Step:  try to rewrite the meaning of the 2nd Amendment.

"If I could've gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them -- Mr. and Mrs. America turn 'em all in -- I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren't here. - Diane Feinstein"

Didn't wish harm upon anyone, just pointed out reality.  Most mentally disturbed tend to be liberals.  Nearly all the nut jobs who start shootouts are Democrats.  As long as they only harm each other, there is a net good.  Unfortunately, Democrats sympathize with the criminal more than the victim.  Making the criminal a victim of a supposed unjust society is a Progressive specialty.

It is probably a good idea for most adults over 50 to take a daily dose of aspirin.  I have been taking a full 325 mg dose for years. Check with your doctor first.

jtdavis does not know his aspirin.  If aspirin had been developed by one of the big pharmaceutical companies and approved by the FDA last week, it would soon be marketed as a prescription drug at something like 10 bucks a pop, given its many proven benefits.  I get 'em generically at one buck  for 120 tablets.  Best med buy in the known universe.

More likely, if aspirin were discovered 12 years ago, after 10 years of extensive trials, FDA would approve it for sale.  After 18 months, because .01 percent of users suffered a negative reaction the FDA ordered its withdrawal.  Then, lawyers of the John Edwards ilk, filed a class action suit for $100 million, settled for $50 million, of which the plaintiffs received $750,000.  The high price charged included research fees, 10 years of tests, production, advertising and a portion set aside for possible lawsuits.  Meanwhile, those who wished to still take aspirin would be importing it, sneaking it across the border, or boiling down willow bark.
