Underachievers can become President

Any kid can grow up to be president. Just look at their report cards. Lyndon Johnson got a D in his third-grade grammar class. John Kennedy scored a 55 in eighth-grade Latin. George H.W. Bush's high school transcript shows marks in the 60s and 70s for many classes.

"We want to believe that there is a class of people who emerge early on as heirs to the throne, so to speak, but that's not the case," said Timothy Walch, director of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library.

And, Albert Einstein didn't do well in math. Winston Churchill did poorly in Latin. Some people don't do well in academics, but succeed. And, your point is?

President Bush is a rated Fighter Pilot, and the only U.S. President ever to hold an MBA. Basic flight training has about a 50% washout rate. After BFT only the best pilots get assigned high performance fighters.

Prefacing a statement with the term "everybody knows" indicates that it is not a defendable point, and that you are depending on sympathetic support.

I don't care for Bush, but he was smart enough to be named the winner of the Presidential Election twice. He was smart enough to be elected governor of Texas. He has been smart enough to get whatever he wants out of congress.

No, Bush is not the dumb one in all of these events.
