That would indicate it's not something mandated by the parent company, the New York Times. Call and leave a message. If their voice mailboxes are full on monday morning, perhaps they will decide to do something about the layout.

This can't hurt! This site is pitiful.

Hmm. That's a mighty fine point, FV. Raising awareness that the Times-Daily's new format is highly insensitive to those who are visually impaired is a good idea. Of course, making the TD aware of this is a good place to start, but I think if the advertisers themselves were made aware of this fact, they might urge the TD staff to implement some changes or revisions that would alleviate the problem. Even though it's not the advertisers' fault (they don't directly control the format of this site), they would be most unhappy to be associated with any sort of issue that would cause them to have a bad public image. And if enough advertisers tell the TD, "People are calling ME saying my ad is making the site unreadable to people who are visually impaired" ... well, that might carry a little more weight than just a bunch of forum members complaining. I mean, it's obvious just how much regard they have for forum members, right?
I totally agree!! Why make it a hardship on the one's with eyesight problems. It's bad enough for those with 20/20 vision. This is outrageous and unnecessary. Times Daily will certainly lose a lot more members and unknown readers. This is TD FORUM suicide!!!!!! It won't last long if something is not done to fix the big mess. There are many other websites that are user friendly.
I'll be honest, here. I haven't seen the ads. I have AdBlock Plus installed in Firefox. But I (obviously) see the formatting changes that are a result of making room for these ads.

Then I thought to myself, "Self, how you gonna complain to the advertisers if you can't see the ads?" So I turned off AdBlock Plus and refreshed the page.

Oh, Eye-Row-Knee. Who am I going to complain to that their ad is causing undue stress and difficulty for visually-impaired users?

HELEN KELLER Hospital.

Bwahahahahaha!
